The thread below was posted on the Uverseusers.com forum. It appears that the 4 HD stream profile (WAN Profile 0 SD/4 HD & Ingress Profile 1 SD/3 HD) is being released to new customers in some markets and will be released to all new customers by the end of this month. The new profile will be released to eligible customers on the 32/5 profile. With the new profile, 4 live HD channels can be watched at the same time. Also, 3 HD programs can be recorded at the same time. When 3 HD programs are recorded at the same time, a 4th live HD channel can be watched on a TV connected to a non-DVR STB.

I read that over at Uverseusers and got all excited even though I just got 3HD/1SD.
Funny how no matter what we get we want more, huh?

That's just human nature. The next thing that will want is the ability to record 4 HD programs. Once we get that, we will want more than 4 streams. ![]()

I rebooted my DVR last night and 1SD/3HD Ingress profile showed up. (Houston, TX). ![]()
No 4HD WAN yet, though.

Great! I discovered the 1 SD/3 HD Ingress Profile when I rebooted on Monday. Might be a good idea for others to try a reboot to see if the new profile appears for them.

Just had a chance to reboot mine before a 6pm show started recording and when it was done I had Ingress profile of 1 SD/ 3HD and was recording 3 shows at the same time, here in metro Detroit. Thanks for posting that TG. ![]()

YEP. I just looked and we now have the 1 SD/3 HD ingress profile. Thanks for the tip TG.
OK, Chris.....please tell this poor old guy just what this does for me.
Previously I moved our DVR to the kitchen and brought the regular STB into the living room so we could record two HD channels and watch a 3rd one on our main TV. Does this new update mean I can now switch back and bring the DVR into the living room and put the non-DVR STB back in the kitchen???? Can I now record two HD channels and watch a third one on my DVR?

Yes, it does. In addition to now being able to record 3 HD programs at the same time, you can also watch a 3rd HD program on any TV, including the one connected to the DVR, when 2 HD programs are being recorded.

Well....thank you for the info. But I don't see anything in our profile about 4 HD streams. On my non-DVR STB I just tried recording three HD channels while we're watching a 4th one (all different channels) and it would not work. So I guess the 4th channel capability is yet to come. Right?
I just went back and reread all the posts in this thread and I see we have the same thing S.J. has. OK. We really don't need that but if I'm reading this right we will now be able to move the DVR back into the living room and regain our ability to pause and/or rewind live TV.......an ability we had temporarily given up.

Correct. Your WAN Profile has not been changed to 0 SD/4 HD. As mentioned in my first message, that profile will start rolling out to new customers in some markets by the end of the month. When your WAN Profile is 0 SD/4 HD, you will be able to record 3 HD programs at the same time and watch a 4th HD program on a TV connected to a non-DVR STB. So you may end up moving the DVR back to the kitchen when when you get the 4 HD profile so that you can watch the 4th HD stream in the living room. ![]()

I really can't conceive of any occasion when we would be wanting to record more than a couple of channels while watching a 3rd. Besides, since I just went to all the work to make the switch back and put the DVR back in the living room, I think I'll just leave it. We now have our ability to rewind and pause live TV back. If and when THAT feature becomes incorporated into THDVR....then I might switch back. But for now....we're set up the way we were installed....DVR in living room.....STB's in kitchen and computer room. Thanks for all the info. I don't know if I'm ever going to get all this digital stuff figured out. Think I'll just go back to good old ham radio. THAT I understand.

Actually Phil I can, when the Network shows come on in Sept, I'll be recording 3 Network show in the same hour and would like to record a show on a 'cable' channel at the same time w/o shifting the recording to the west coast viewing 3 hours later.
It's funny as right now I still have 1 series recording at the west coast time as the 9pm slot on one day already has 3 programs recording as I shifted all but 1 west coast series to east coast series time. ![]()

Thanks guys for the tip... I just rebooted my DVR STB and I now have the 1SD/3HD Ingress profile as well. I live in California near San Francisco. I have been wanting the ability to record 3HD channels for a while now so I am very happy.

Oh yeah, Chris. I'll probably end up eating my words when my loving spouse finds out that she has four shows she wants to watch all running at once. Y'know how that goes?![]()

I now have the 4 HD Profile in Dallas. Here is my new profile information:
WAN Profile: 0SD/4 HD; Max Bandwidth: 31947200
Ingress Profile: 1 SD/3 HD; Ingress Bandwidth: 26960400
Egress Profile: 18973600, 1 SD/2 HD
The new profile is being rolled out to new customers in the Dallas market. I called the Sales Department and requested the upgrade.

I'm still at 1SD/3HD WAN Max Band: 32700000
Ingress at 2SD/2HD ing. band: 25800000
Egress 1SD/2HD band: 200000000
Will that ingress bandwidth support 4HD?

If you are on the 32/5 profile in the Dallas market, you can be upgraded to the new 4 HD profile. Your WAN, Ingress and Egress would be changed to the same ones that I have now.
I spoke to someone in the Sales Department, and they were able to upgrade me to the new 4 HD profile. I rebooted my DVR and STB's, and I now have the new profile on all boxes.
I thought you already had the Ingress Profile of 1 SD/3 HD and could record 3 HD programs at the same time.

I don't blame you. I got it this morning. Just remember that when 3 HD programs are being recorded, the 4th HD channel cannot be watched on the TV connected to the DVR. It has to be watched on a TV connected to an STB.

Hi,
I don't have the 32 bandwidth profile but am on the 25 one. Does that mean I will not be able to get more than 2 HD sessions whenever the upgrade comes through my area?

No it doesn't. When pair bonding is rolled out in your area you may be upgraded to the higher profile and get 1sd/3hd.
