Can you tell me how you got your email turned back on?  I sent a message to the Community Manager and haven't heard back.  I already changed my password and can email out, but nothing can come in!

I too have been LOCKED OUT of my BELLSOUTH.net EMAIL account ~ It's been 3 weeks today! I have read all the messages yet there doesn't seem to be any solutions or answers on HOW TO FIX IT. Someone....anyone PLEASE let us know what is the answer to get our LOCKED accounts back in service. AT&T is no help when you call ~ just waste hours on the phone trying to help. ....and how is ALEX?? Is he the WIZARD OF OZ that is the Almighty unblocker of BLOCKED EMAIL ACCOUNTS? If so...how can we reach him??

He's an ATT employee (off on weekends) and can access your account/personal info privately via Personal Message.  Just click on his name above.  When you have a reply on the forum, look for a number to appear by the blue envelope, upper top right each page.

My sbcglobal.net e-mail contact list has been hacked.  I've run all kinds of security scans (i.e. McAfee, etc.) hoping that would clear it up.  Spent over an hour yesterday with AT&T on line chat and all she did was help me change my password.  She said that would solve my problem.  That did no good as my contacts received junk mail from me again today.  I have no clue what to do next and am upset that I can't even talk with an AT&T support person to discuss this and get assistance.    I spent over 1/2 hour today waiting to connect with on line chat (again) and gave up.  What to do!

Is this the same email that you mentioned in Nov. 2011?

That is all you can do, change your password, and run a virus scan.  Have you tried looking for malware, with something like Malwarebytes?

Once someone has your address book, they'll continue to send spam to those contacts, even though it's not from you.

Some suggestions: 

ALWAYS log in to your email with HTTPS (not HTTP).

Use another email for 6 mos. or so, let all of your contacts know.  Let the hacked email just collect spam for now.

Resist using free Wi-Fi hotspots for checking email that are usually NOT secure (WEP-Open with no password).  This can even happen with a smartphone.

I too have been hacked and locked. One good ole day my sbcglobal email was inaccessible. I kept getting the "invalid password" message even though I never changed my password. Can someone help please.

I suggest you have your password reset then change it.  Make sure you chage it to something other than what it was.  I hat hotmail hacked before and that was my wakeup to do this.  It is pretty simple.  Make sure you don't use whatever that password was for other things casue they could go anywhere and use it.  If you have stored financual info they could charge up a storm using just a password.

It's happened to me 3 times now in the last month. I endure the Manila connection to get a temporary password and then go in and set up a new one each time. Same thing happens after about a week. I get locked out! I am convinced that this is ATT PROBLEM and not our fault. They just flat don't talk to each other or give a darn!

I just got off the phone with someone from India which didn't help and they tried to charge me $300!

I’ve tried to login on 4 different computers and get the same Invalid ID or Password error.

Contacted AT&T online support and they couldn't help me because it's a free account.

November 26 2012:  My sbcglobal email account has been hacked.  Had a scare when I couldn't get into my bank account.  My passmark was deleted.  I've spent countless hours on the phone and online trying to find a way to change the password and/or delete all my sbcglobal accounts.  I think I got this account with dial up in 1996.  For that reason, I've lost all records of passwords for other sbcglobal email accounts, account number, etc.  I tried to private message the person who everyone refers to but I can't find his personal message box when clicking on his name.  Does anyone know how to delete sbcglobal accounts?  How serious a threat is this hacking to compromising banking, credit cards, all financial information???  I'm thinking about enrolling in lifelock as I'm very concerned about this.  Thanks, Kate

One of my sub accounts has been hacked and my wife cannot get her email any longer. Tried the usual AT&T support with both our old DSL accounts and new U-Verse account. Noone takes responsibility except to tell us that the sbcglobal.net account are now considered free email IDs, and we have no recourse. Can someone help? AT&T has created a mess here. It is not acting like one company. Each division is acting as a separate business, and customers are left high and dry. We need help.

I too am now having this problem.  I've talked to three different techs, none helped.  The one actually kept changing the password for my
