I am an Xbox live user and i cannot play one game without it saying "connection interupted" when i leave to check the modem, it is fashing red in the dsl section. it will get me so frustrated. and i have to pay money to play online. so we are paying 30$ a month on internet that cant stay connected, and an extra 10$ for Xbox Live when i cant even stay connected. so i know how you feel. i am only 13 yrs old and i had to make our at&t account. and i could barely stay connected long enough to complain. please at&t. pay a little bit more attention to your customers.

same thing with me too, two electronics that require internet cant be on at once, if i use my ipod, my brother disconnects from live, if my bro is on the xbox, my mom cant connect to the intternet on her laptop. its just a hectic mess. if my mom is on the internet, i cant use my ipod or xbox. vise versa ( not sure how you spell that)

They are wrong. The problem is the router and I'm guessing you both have a "2wire". its trash and the people you call (the ones that read everything off a computer screen and try to sound smart) have no earthly idea what they are talking about.
1. Gaming online takes up hardly ANY bandwidth at all. The only thing that matters with gaming (unless hosting the game) is PING!
2. It doesn't matter at all what speed of DSL/cable/satellite internet you have. A switch is designed to equally split the bandwidth to multiple devices. The problem with the 2wire is that it can NOT handle more than a few things on WIFI at a time.
3. ATT has horrible customer service. This is a fact and not simply my opinion.
4. To fix your problem without having to pay for a higher speed just go buy a new switch/router. linksys is a very popular brand and should even be sold in your wal-mart. Good luck to you both.

I agree that their internet services are horrible. Unfortunately in the area that I live my choice is either ATT DSL or ATT Dialup. If there were any other option in this area for Highspeed Internet (even if it was double the cost) I would drop my service with ATT in a heartbeat.
Not to mention the recent deal between the Motion Picture Association of America and ATT. ATT recently agreed to a deal where they would restrict your internet access (both speed and sites you are able to visit) if you have copyright infringing materials go across your connection. Many popular websites like facebook and youtube have lots of material posted on them that the MPAA views as infringing materials, and this deal could make you have your access restricted for everyday activities like watching a few videos on youtube, or browsing your friends facebook pages.

Internet sucks, high ping... and whenever I call ATT for support the employees either don't know what they're talking about, or just aren't helpful. I regret buying ATT t(-.-t), just to state something i am using the lowest plan and its VERY laggy , but I used to have Verizon (earlier this year) on the lowest plan and it was very fast, just something to think about.

The router most likely isnt the issue. Id be very surprised if you said you bought another router and it made any difference whatsoever. And it does matter what bandwidth you have when online gaming as well as your ping if youre talking about having several devices sharing that bandwidth at once. If youre watching a movie, using an ipod, and surfing on another comp, youre connection speed is gonna drop. Thats with any router. Also it depends what bandwidth you have, if you have 1.5 coming down, no wonder. If you have 5? Check the speed coming into the comp, could be youre not getting the speed ur supposed to get.

I can verify that. Our AT&T connection was slow and having periodic problems. Their tech support suggested to me that our modem was outdated. Since we had it for several years, I spent over $100 on a new modem/router combo. I bought AT&T's brand since they support it. It has done NO GOOD whatsoever. If anything, the problems are worse. Calling their tech support has proved to be time consuming and useless. Most of the time we cannot use two devices at the same time. Netflix will interrupt the signal to other devices, and other connected devices stop Netflix. Even our microwave oven interferes with this super- unstable wifi connection!!
My ATT&T email stops working nearly every time I open it. If I am lucky it will work for about 3-5 minutes at a time. VERY FRUSTRATING. Looking to change service
