Internet dropping out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know there have been a million posts about this. Ive been having a persistant problem with this for about 3 years. I've always blamed it on an incompetent technician, but I've finally started on the forums here and see this is a big problem. I've got the 2wire router. anytime i put a little stress on the connection is drops out. I notice that when I'm playing ps3 and my wife logs in or out on her computer my connection drops. I have to log in to world of warcraft 5 times before my connection will stay. Customer service states that their connection cant be proven faulty with gameplay, but why the he ll would anybody way the faster connection speeds?! This problem doesnt just happen when gaming though. When im on youtube it drops. multiple tabs, it drops. im sick and tired of it. What is the solution? If there is no solution  then were paying a lot of money for aproduct that isn't being given.

If the modem is the problem, it may have taken a surge from a storm. Not electrically, but through the system. It happened here in the first month of Uverse service. Did not disable it. Internet ran slow and a answering machine expired. AT&T replaced the modem. Technical support wrote the order. It was hand delivered in 2 days.

Another item I found: If you Internet comes in through the phone system, wiring in you house may not be up to standards for Internet. Phone line is not anyway. This house is quite a few years old, that's where the problem was here. I now have a dedicated line just for Internet connected to the phone service box on the side of the house. It is a "do it yourself" project. Ehow .com with a search heading of "Computer Network wiring inside a home" will explain what, why, and how to do this. If you can use basic hand tools and climb a ladder, you can do this. The signal is interfered by items in your home. These can be other electrical appliances, or the length of the cable. I used Cat5e to come in the house. Its weather proof. Cat7 shielded inside to keep the signal in the wire and restrict other sources. No more problems. Cost was no more than a months Internet service.

I live in Dallas and experiencing the same issue.  Had a tech out on Thursday and he replaced the filter on the outside, I have a didicated line from outside to modem.  Still have the issue, I chatted online Friday night and now my phone line is dead and DSL stills drops out.  So I feel your pain.

i know this is a couple months old, but i have the same issue. its random, sometimes it works perfect with couple of laptops, the wii and what not, and sometimes, like now, i cant get past the enter realm window. by the time it loads, its already kicked me. 

have you figured out a solution??
