I have set up Outlook 2012 according to settings published by ATT. Incoming, imap.mail.yahoo.com, port 993, SSL and outgoing, smtp.mail.yahoo.com, port 465, SSL. I authenticate with my firstname.lastname@example.org. When I login via the web, I will have multiple emails in my inbox; however, Outlook - even if manually refreshed with send/receive, may do the following:
1. Pull a few emails
2. Not pull any emails.
I have gradualy increased the server timeout to two minutes, but this makes no difference.
I have multiple accounts are experiencing the same results with all acocunts. Are the above settngs correct?

Having the same problem with Outlook AND on my IPhone. Email downloads to both are unreliable and quit unexpededly without my making any changes either on the PC or phone. Error message state that the password was not accepted, and at the same time I am looking at a browser window, logged onto the att.net email I just logged into with the same credentials. Spent 2 hours with agent on the phone last night, he suggested I contact Microsoft and Apple....UGH....this is disgusting. Clearly the problem is not with my settings, and also reading through the posts, this has been going on for a LONG, LONG, effing LONG time without resolution from either Yahoo or ATT. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE ATT/YAHOO TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ON YOUR END??? My suggestion: DUMP YAHOO MAIL IMMEDIATELY OR FIX IT. Both are supposed to be tech companies and you folks cannot figure this out?

I'm having the same issue. I've actually deleted my accounts in my email client (Entourage 2008) as well as added them. It works for a while, but then stops. I get the message that I've got the incorrect user name or password. And they are the same user name and passwords that I log into the web client with.
This is extremely frustrating and has been going on since 4/29. I've also tried to use my Mac Mail with the same results. I can only get in via my web client - not my Mac, my iPhone or my Kindle.

And....what say you ATT? We hear.... CRICKETS..... I have a primary account and a secondary account with different att.net email accounts. My primary account inbound/outbound has never stopped uploading into Outlook. The secondary account is a mess, password failures to both Outlook and IPHONE. Sometimes it works, most of the time, sync fails to both devices, when it starts syncing again, nothing was changed (UID, POP servers, passwords, ports...nothing). You have an issue in your authentication to the inbound/outbound POP servers, possibly a timing issue between ATT and YAHOO hosts that causes a service refusal.....OBVIOUSLY, I am cluless, I freely admit....but one thing I do know, its not my PC/Outlook settings/password, or my IPHONE settings or password....The issue is at the host end. PERIOD.
