I've had AT&T for little under a year now, working just fine, advertised speeds, stable, no disconnects. However, here recently I purchased parts for a new computer and built this new computer to replace my older less capable computer that I was going to let my brother use for his gaming needs. However as I finished the build, installed Windows 7, installed all of the drivers, and installed my games, I found that upon launching the games and attempting to play them, would cause the DSL light on the modem to start blinking red, and my connection would drop.
I have experienced this problem only in 3D games, I can play generally for thirty seconds, then the connection will drop for about thirty seconds, and then if the game hasn't booted me out by then ( If I happened to be playing an MMO, in example. ) I will regain connection for another thirty seconds or so, and this process repeats indefinitely. It prevents me utterly from playing any game online, or using anything involving a connection while I play even a singleplayer game.
I have a decent amount of knowledge in troubleshooting so I started off my swapping modem ( Westell 6200 ) to bridge mode, and using my router ( Linksys WRT54GL running the latest Tomato firmware ), the Linksys replaced a Netgear that also had the problem, despite the problem still happening with the Linksys. I decided to bypass the NIC card of the motherboard and used a USB Wireless adapter, still to no avail. I went as far as calling the support line and requesting a new modem about a week or two ago, which I recieved the next Monday, I proceeded to replace the old modem and test again, to which the connection still failed.
While the connection is down I have ran both pings and tracert's the pings always fail to reach their destination and the tracert gets as far as my router ( 192.168.1.1 ), which indicates no problem for my computer actually attempting to get the data out.
While generally browsing the web I have noticed a somewhat common problem of when I open 'new' web pages that I haven't browsed before I have to re-open the page a second time for it to actually load, I'm unsure if this is related or not however. While downloading I recieve my full advertised speeds without much of an issue.
Any and all help would be appreciated, I've tried three forums thus far troubleshooting just about every part that could be at fault here

I too am a gamer and posted something recently in another thread. I have played world of warcraft for 6 years, 2 years of that with at+t dsl. Never had any issues. Almost 2 months ago we began having random disconnects where the "service" light would go either blinking green or red and then reconnect. This happens MANY times a day, and usually I can't stay connected for more than 5 or so minutes. Then there are times where it works fine for 2 or 3 hours, but ultimately bang....internet drops again. I am frustrated beyond belief, I am the GM of a US top 100 guild and there are 100+ raiders relying on me to be there and I have been completely neutered by this problem. Over 50 tech support calls, 3 techs to the hours...I've replaced modem/every wire/filter/etc. It's not my network card as my wifes laptop dc's as well at the exact same time my desktop does. Please help us here. Gamers are a large portion of your customer base at+t and I hope you will help us get the service we're paying for.
