my iphone5 and 3gs are consuming data at the rate of my months usage in less than i day

my iphone5 and 3gs are consuming data at the rate of my months usage in less than i day. i need to keep celular data off to prevent it

check to make sure all the icloud featrues are turned off

If both devices are on iOS 5 then it's a well known bug. iOS 5 will switch to 3G (LTE) even though Wi-Fi is available. This is happening especially when your phone idles.
To test it, connect your phone to Wi-Fi and let it idle for a while. Watch it consume 3G data...

It is an iOS 6 bug.

first it is IOS 6 & iphone 5 combo issue you are speaking of, second it is/was unique to Verizon. Apple and verizon has already rectified the WIFI / cellular data issue with a phone firmware push

Besides what has already been mentioned if you have push enabled on a lot of things you use daily and if you have iCloud set to share various things this will all increase your data especially back-ups.
