What types of useage eats up the most data?

Just what it sys.....Which sort of stuff are you guys using that uses the most data on a data plan?  What exactly causes large amounts of data consumption?  Youtube...what?

I would say streaming music to your phone uses a large amount of data. That is, if you have a phone that CAN stream music. It also drains your battery. That's MY guess but I'm sure there are plenty of other things that do,such as youtube. I'm sure there are other members who can add to this for you.

I'd have to agree.  Streaming music and videos is really data intensive and you can use a LOT in a very short period of time.

If you have a data counter on your phone that keeps track of your sessions, start checking to see how much you use each time you're on mobile web and you'll figure out how to budget your use. The counter is in the menu on your phone, probably, my Pantech has it under calls. menu> my stuff> tools> recent calls> packet counter, it may be in a different place if its on your menu. Mine lets me reset the logs or counters on the timers.
