I lost the ability to send/receive MMS message(s). I can create MMS message(s) from the Drafts folder then select Send. The status icon “sending message” appears in the upper notification area. Then I receive another status icon “Cannot send MMS” in the upper notification area. When I select this status icon “Cannot send MMS” I get a prompt “Warning!” “Unable to send your message(s). Your message(s) will remain in the Outbox.” This never happened before and I used to able to send/receive MMS with no problems. A online chat with customer support suggested to remove the battery with the power on. Wait a good 30 seconds, and put the battery back inside the device and reboot. No improvement so far. Then the customer support agent suggested doing a master reset. Could I configure this device to send/receive MMS like before without performing a master reset?

Phones are like mini computers nowadays.
Every now and then files get corrupted and sometimes the only way to clean out the corrupted files is to do a master reset.
You should back up your contacts before doing so. Else it will be a PITA.
On WinMo phones you can use something like PIM Backup (free app) to do this.
Not sure what is available for your phone.
Basically, I think you can't avoid the master reset ![]()
Good luck.

Don't do a master reset unless technical support tells you to. It's possible your MMS profile got borked, or your email gateway is wrong. Both of those can play havoc with your ability to send MMS messages. As always, call Customer Care, or find a friend or relative with the same model of phone, and copy their settings.
Technical Support DID tell him tim do a master reset.
You need to read at least the OP's original post before you post a reply.
Else you don't get the full picture.

Physician, heal thyself. Customer support said to do a master reset, not technical support. There's a wide gulf of difference between the two. A master reset is the last step before replacing the phone.
I disagree.
I've master resetted my phone a few times because of apps that didn't play nice.
Master resets *sometimes* can clear up corruptions in registry, apps, etc.
Sometimes not. When the master reset does not clear up the problem, THEN the phone may be replaced.
But master resets do not mean that the phone must be replaced.

Just re-read your original post. We have the same phone. Do the PIM Backup and move over any pictures from device memory to your memory card or computer before performing a master reset.
I learned the hard way to always backup my phone before every install of a new app.
You might want to do that going forward.
Once you know you have a recent backup to restore from, master resets are not a hassle at all.

Hi guandalf! Thanks for your reply to my post. I looked into the possibility that “MMS settings are correct?”. Because I was able to send and receive “SMS” messages and not “MMS” messages. I found the link I needed from another thread in this forum.
http://www.wireless.att.com/businesssupport/device
After proceeding with the “Fix”, I am able to send/receive “MMS” messages.

Hi Mister Xiado! Thanks’ for your reply. I took into consideration that possibly my “MMS” profile or “e-mail gateway is wrong”. So I did some more research and found a link that provided a solution.
