Hi. I've read the many posts regarding issues with the Option GT Ultra Express card and I have to say I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of support for this card. I spent an hour or so on the phone with AT&T and they eventually told me I'd have to go to Apple.
Unlike a lot of you, I was up and running with the card immediately and experienced about a month of connectivity with no issues (other than the general heinousness of the GlobeTrotter software). Tuesday, out of the blue, my connectivity vanished even though I have not made any changes to my system. I cannot get it to work now.
The preferences for APN and pass are set according to this site. The software says I'm connected and displays a minimum of bytes transferred (usually 4.5kb). I am showing "bars". But the internet and e-mail will not work. In network preferences it says I have a self-assigned IP and "may not be able to connect". When I ping Yahoo I get nothing.
I can't seem to figure out how to get my connection back. If anyone can help please do!
Thanks.

What version of Mac OS are you using? If it's 10.5 then you don't need the 3rd party software as 10.5.x has it built in to the OS and works just fine.
In any case, open Applications-->Utilities-->Disk Utility and run verify permissions (this fixes a lot of ills). Also open the log viewer and see if the logs have any information about why things have failed. You may also want to boot from the MacOS install CD (hold down the C key when restarting) and try "Repair Disk" from Disk Utility which is under Utilities from the menu bar.
Note that a permission verify may take a while.
Hope this helps.
