anyone else having issues getting this work over their corporate VPN? Riverbed tech support said that they've heard of an issue associated with Communication Manager and to uninstall the ByteMobile s/w and reboot. I did all that and it still isn't working with the Steelhead client. just curious if anyone else has the same problem.

Riverbed was correct in the fact that the bytemobile acceleration client doesn't exactly play nicely. Just as a double check that bytemobile is actually uninstalled, look in services (start > run> type "services.msc" ) and make sure that if bytemobile web configurator is there, it is at least disabled.
Unfortunately VPN usage is not "technically" supported. If you can connect and browse the configuration of your VPN client is up to your IT department. I would stay away from the VPN configuration inside communication manager.
