AT&T Messages App

I recently synchronized my phone (Xperia TL) contacts to AT&T adress book, in hopes that it would solve the problem of not having my contact pictures used in the AT&T Messages app. Anyone else have this problem? If not, how did you resolve the problem and have the contact pictures synch with AT&T Messages app?
