2 wire modem and low signal

I have a 2 wire that I was told is hard wired into a jack in our house. House was built in the 70's. I have moved my office from the bedroom to another end of the house and my signal strength is not good. It goes from fair to good and this is about 2800 SFT house. Wife says the modem cannot go in the family room, so 2 questions:

1. Is there a booster I can get from ATT or at an ATT store to help

2. Can I add another 2 wire modem in my home office to help, thus having 2 wi fi connections available in the house?
