Leaving ATT after 30years!

I am so fed up!  Have been trying to get our landline and dsl lowered since the first of the year, each month I am told it is done, and each month I have to call yet again as it has increased even more!

Each  time I call the number given me for a "specialist" I either get cut off, or do not get the problem fixed,  this is extremely frustrating and  time consuming, last month it was 2hrs on phone with "specialist?", this month I got fed up and hung up!

Not only that, but after being TOLD last month the bill will NOT increase this month, I find out my  DSL went from $31 a month to $46 a month, will this crazyness ever stop!

To top it off I had called about Home wireless yesterday with att with a question (very simple one!) and in the entire time, after restating my question several times, he NEVER did answer my question!

I have already taken our cell service away from ATT, the landline and dsl are next!

Congratulations on leaving.  I'm next.   My bill went up for the internet, again, and of course without prior notice.  I called this morning and talked to "Chris in Missouri" and asked why my bill was increasing for the same mediocre internet service.  She told me AT&T increased their rates "to be more competitive" and this is the good one, "because other companies charge more so we raised our rates."   I've been in the business world long enough to know a company does not become more competitive by raising their rates, and I have never had a provider tell me they are charging more simply because everyone else does.

Here are some better ideas to be more competitive:  hire intelligent customer service reps; provide a better service than other companies instead of charging more because they do;  and stop sending me instant recycling in the mail two to three times a week about Uverse.   Can anyone recommend a decent internet provider?  I'm worried about my Directv as well since they've been purchased by AT&T.

Did you call the Customer Retention department? They are ones responsible for giving you deals, if possible. They have lowered my Internet plan in the past. I agree that the madness will not stop when it comes to constantly increasing Internet service, which should be treated like a dial tone (built into the cost of having a landline). It's a Congressional issue. But in the meantime try the Retention department, unless that is you've already cancelled your service.
