u-vers Not Working on iPad

I have the u-verse app on my iPad but when I click on a show it just shows the spinning wheel at the bottom inside the app. I also get a message "The iPad is attempting to connect to the U-verse receiver(s), please retry in a few seconds. I am at home but I use my own wireless router rather than AT&Ts. However, this should still work because the app is also supposed to work away from home over any WiFi and even cellular network. So how can I get this to work?
My Device: iPhone 5 32g

It works on mine but my Airport Extreme is in bridge mode not DMZ.
