Recorded programs will be erased immediatetly

Recently I discovered that anything we record now shows an exclamation point  ! stating it will be erased very, very soon..this is something totally new from my freinds at AT&T... :-P  Anyone else have this? Any reply would be appreciated. Tried live support, Quicktime crashes...

Does it show this option under "Keep Until"?  I personally have never seen an exclamation point on a recording either before it records or after.

And what means "very, very soon"?  As soon as watched, 24 hours, day after tomorrow?

There may be an issue with the recording space on the DVR's hard drive. Can you download and install SomeJoe's tool at the link below?

Once you install the tool, please post screenshots of the following Channels/Stream tab. We can take a look at the screenshots to see if there appears that you might be an issue with the DVR. If so, we can tell you how to correct it.

It does show Keep Until, but now it displays the exclamation point.. some programs of which have disappeared. This current DVR was replaced last fall...

I have 15 recordings and none of them show that.

I believe the exclamation point indicates that these programs are the ones selected to be erased if you set up a new recording that does not have enough free space.

Did you check the "thermometer" to see if the free space is correct based on the number of recordings? If there is a discrepancy you wil need to reboot to synch it up.

I think you need to check the retention priority for all your recordings. Normally the storage works on a FIFO basis which means First In First Out. In other words the very first thing you recorded will be the very first thing deleted when the DVR starts to run out of space. Now, if you set higher retention priorities on all your old recordings, the DVR can not delete them for new recordings so it's the new recordings that get deleted first.
