I was a bit disappointed that there are no apps for Netflix and Youtube. I switched from TiVo. They have them on the listing, I'm sure that they don't want to buy another equipments such as Roku, WD TV, etc. Waste their electricity. I know some TV have the apps, same with game consoles. You know what I'm talking about, when u have the wireless receiver or the additional receiver in your other rooms, that don't have games connected. One console is enough for each household.

Welp. TiVo is not a TV Provider. Does Comcast, Cox, Direct and so on provide Netflix via their boxes? Thought not. Netflix is a direct competitor of AT&T, Comcast, Dish and so on.
Youtube could be doable but not sure at what cost. U-Verse's Mediashare blows at streaming video.

There are couple of other tools you can use.
PS3
Roku
or a smart TV.
I currently have 1 Roku and will be purchasing 2 more soon.

I suppose that one way of mitigating the percieved loss to competition (and the cost of paying the licensing for the rights to imbed such an application) would be to require a certain service level to enable the feature. But they'd still need to develop the client and I'm just not sure the precieved benefits outweigh the perceived risks. Who knows, maybe they're working on it.

Why? They are competitors to AT&T's Video on Demand and UVerse online.

Not going to happen. AT&T wants you to pay 5 to 8 dollars for their on demand movies and will not let you stream Netflix through their equipment. That is why Starz pulled their on demand from Netflix because they want you to subscribe to Starz . It is all about money they are not going to foot the bill so you can watch through the competition.

I don't think it will happen either but I would pay $5 a month to have that turned on. On 2 of my 5 TVs, I have another device that can do Netflix and other services. It would be nice to have that option on the other TVs, plus it wouldn't count against the 4 stream limitation.
