Got U-verse for first time in August 2011. Was teased with FB on TV for 2 days. Then, upgrades began and continued for 2 months. Have been checking daily if upgrades finally done. Appeared to be done today (10/26) but when attempting to start FB on TV, it states Page Load Error. Went to on-line tech support to no avail. Does anyone know when this application will be running again?

I no longer see this app referred to as a "beta". It was being tested in the Austin, Dallas and San Antonio markets.
Does everyone now have the Facebook App?

I don't have it here in Wisconsin yet. I don't have a FB account either, so not too big of a deal for me.

In the Go Interactive menu, I noticed today that Facebook had been added. It works with your Facebook account, if you already have one. It just requires you to authorize the app by answering an email.
One thing I noticed is that you must you the onscreen keyboard to enter text. Using the keyboard through an app on your smartphone or tablet will not work. Just a mild inconvenience that I'm sure they can fix in later versions. Overall, it's always nice to see new features like this added.
Now that I have the app, does this mean that I am now using the new version of Microsoft TV, the one that is supposedly compatible with Media Center on a PC, allowing software IPTV streaming without the need of an RF-based tuner card? If not, any idea if and when we would ever see this?

i just setup facebook to work on att uverse stb. But the scrolling text input is a joke! There no way to goback to edit your post. Going forward, I wish ATT will replace this with a more easier way inputting text to post to your wall

It's at the top of the Go Interactive menu in Houston, not in Entertainment. Is that just here, or they changed it?
Privacy Policies, take note...hmmm...

Here is an artilce on the U-verse Facebook App:
Looking to boost its social status, AT&T has launched an interactive app for U-verse TV customers to tap into their Facebook accounts on the TV.
Other pay TV providers that have hooked up with Facebook include Verizon Communications, which added a widget for FiOS TV customers to access the social-media service three years ago.
With the Facebook app on U-verse TV, subscribers can view their newsfeed, friends list and photos; post status updates and share information about the TV shows they're watching; and interact with friends and view their timelines, photos and status updates.
U-verse TV customers can add up to 10 different Facebook accounts on a single set-top. To access Facebook on TV, customers will need an existing Facebook account and a U-verse High-Speed Internet account.
"This app gives U-verse TV and High Speed Internet customers the ability to share information about what they're watching on their TV with their remote, on any U-verse TV screen," Maria Dillard, vice president of U-verse and video products for AT&T Home Solutions, said in a statement. "It's another example of how we continue to enhance and bring more value to the U-verse experience."
As of June 2012, Facebook had 955 million monthly active users worldwide. AT&T reported 4.15 million U-verse TV subscribers as of June 30.

What am I missing here? This is a joke. If you could see the screen similar to the actual Facebook page...... fine. But this is pretty much useless. If I want an "app" I'll put it on my phone. Apps for Uverse seem to be gimmicks. Are we not internet based? Why don't they have the ability to just make any TV a "smart TV" and give us the ability to access the internet in any room of the house. THAT would be exciting.

When I initially got Uverse the newest app they had was Ubar. People were really straining to get it but it was really basic. Now it has evolved into a pretty nice feature. Facebook is brand new and it is not an unexpected thing to hear that it has somd deficiencies. Given time it will improve and work smoother. This is not meant as a solution or an explanation. I am just pointing out how the service has evolved over time. Slowly ATT is making every tv have Smart TV functions though. The thing is they initially work as smoothly as we would like.

You're right, RC! We come from the days when UV was new.
Nice thing is, you aren't forced to use any of the Apps. ![]()

I finally got it to work. Meh. The display was really small. My guess is that it is more to share what you are watching than checking your news feed.
Has anyone posted what they watched via the app? Does it say "via AT&T U-Verse" or something? Maybe an advertising angle for AT&T? Just curious.

No, but you can click a button to allow it to share that info.
drjekel_mrhyde wrote:

You have to enter a PIN each time you start the application on an STB, so others can't see your account without entering the PIN. I'm not sure if you have to go through setup on each STB or not. You should only have to authorize the application in FB once.

I noticed it on my STB last Friday. I entered my email and was supposed to be sent an email to confirm my account. Never received an email. Tried to register again today and so far, no email. Not in my spam folder either...what gives?...outside of Detroit...
