How to unlock an Iphone

i was given two old i-phones and would like to use them in Costa Rica...what do I need to do??

Hello all, I bought an IPhone 5 from my sister that lives at North Carolina and brought it with me to Brazil. But guess what! I forgot to unlock it before I left the US. Can my sister unlock it from North Carolina once I have the Iphone with me at Rio de Janeiro? Need to use it being client of a brazilian mobile operator.

She should be able to request the unlock. Once the unlock is approved, you can unlock it by following the unlock instruction.

All unlock requests must go through the unlock portal.

If you didn't pay the bill there is no way they are going to unlock the phone. I am not sure that an AT&T phone will work properly on Verizon.

If I read information about post paid account right, you will have to be on at least "60 days of service with iPhone 6" and other things taken care of before getting unlock approved. Apparently, AT&T customer service did not know this when contacted.

How long does it take to get a confirmation e-mail from at&t after putting in a request to have a phone unlocked using their device unlock form?
