iPhone 5 October Orders Thread

Same situation. Got mines shipped on 10/27 at noon, but no info from ups at all. The tracking still isn't working.

Ugh, ordered black 16g at ATT store on 10/8 and is off back order, but no progress on shipping.  No traking number or anything still.  Shipment status still indicates "Processing".  No love in the Northwest.  I'm guessing I won't see it tell November.

I wonder of those being shipped via FedEx are tracking and being delivered quicker? The shipping with UPS is taking forever to even show any tracking info. Mine is stuck in lala land......

Yeah. I'm not sure how they're doing this, but I've seen people from UPS who received tracking days after me and already have information about when it should arrive. I just want to know that mine is even at UPS.

Right. What the heck off b/o yesterday before noon. Blk 16g 10/9. Almost 24hours. Ship the phone already. Ok b/o. I get it. U don't hAve it. But if it's off b/o. Ship it!!!!! Put a label on it. I've been charged all ready. Money gone!!! Ship it !!!

AT&T customer service is not being very cordial about any of this...I call to ask a simple question about shipping and if it would be possible to change my shipping speed to overnight and was met with a very rude and unaccommodating representative, the answer was no of course.  I find it horrible that I've been a customer for over 5 years and this is what I get to deal with...I've never even had a boyfriend for 5 years, I feel like I'm in an abusive relationship with AT&T.........lol

How long from the time AT&T posts the tracking number until UPS actually has information on their website?

AT&T finally posted my tracking number yesterday and sent me a text saying it shipped, but the tracking number gives me no information.

Just wondering when it might arrive since it's going to definitely require a signature!  (And also since i ordered this thing on Septmber 30th and I'm dying to get my hands on it!    )

I completely understand! I woke up Saturday morning with an email from ATT and a shipping tracking number that is yet to track ANYTHING! Gahhhh

Yeah, but it could just be UPS is slow updating their system.  Maybe our phones are already en-route!  How cool would it be to get it today or tomorow?!   After a full month of waiting it will be long overdue!

Odered a iphone 5 32gb white on friday, from the looks of it the white 32gb is moving faster then the black one. So hopefully i have my phone by next week

I got my shipping info and tracking number , mine is shipping with ups they sent it from fort worth texas via Next day air. I live in ohio so i should have it tomorrow! i ordered on 10/9

I order my iPhone 5 black 32 GB is still backorder not thing had change since the first time I checked it.
I heard my friend says the apple store in Bellevue have a lot of iPhone 5 that still on the shellf... It is sad to hear that since I m still waiting for my to ship....

Official 24hr off of backorder. Still pending shipment. !!!! How long. Ship it !!!! Dang!!! Whats the hold up. Waiting and waiting. If I ran my shop this way I'd be out of bussniess !!!!!

regarding the 32GB black...

I ordered one on 10/9/12.

Yes, it is still on backorder.

Yes, it is the one that takes the longest amount of time.

I did place a call to ATT to inquire about changing my order to a 64GB phone but chose not to do it after speaking with them.  My reasoning was based on them basically telling me that all orders, regardless of whether they are placed in an ATT store, online at att.com, or from apple.com (or presumably from any other carrier or online source) are fulfilled by Apple.

ONLY by Apple.

Which means Apple are the ones shipping the product to you, directly.  It also means that any delays are going to be on Apple's end of it, and, as we have already seen, sometimes "patterns" (i.e. the previous pattern of 32GB phones arriving sooner) can reverse themselves.  (White phones used to take longer to arrive, now it's black etc)

This makes sense once you visualize the flow of the product from factories in China, to distribution centers in the US, to shipping locations, to you.

Add to that the response to old information that makes people change their orders to perceived "faster delivery" versions of the phone and you get a highly fluid system that does not always play by its own rules.

In this thread are claims that there is a "delivery" of 32GB black products expected on tuesday (tomorrow).

Whatever.

They will get here, eventually.

Apple manufactures the iPhone and distributes it to its customers.  AT&T, Best Buy, Walmart, et al. order the iPhone from Apple and they distribute it to to their customers.

Tracking number and email from ATT yesterday around noon.  No tracking info on UPS site until now.  Label created 10/29, being shipped 2nd day air.....still don't have expected delivery date.

I finally received more tracking details on my order from UPS.

Ordered 10/6
Off backorder 10/26 @10pm
Tracking # given 10/27 @1pm
Label Created at UPS 10/29 @12:30pm

According to UPS, my order isn't at their facility yet so there isn't detail on tracking or scheduled delivery date. But it is being shipped by 2nd day air.

Oh, got tracking info now!  But UPS hasn't picked it up and scanned it.  Might be halloween or I might be right and it ends up at my door in November.  Nice to see progress though!

I see that the black 16gb iphones seem to be coming off backorder pretty quickly.Ive seen a lot of people with a 10/8 or 10/9 order date getting their phones so im really hoping to see mine that was ordered on 10/11 come off b/o this week! Anyone with an order from 10/11 seen any movement?
