Hey guys I just go news from my cousin. He ordered white 16gb sept 21st just got his oct 22.... I guess this is a good gauging point.
I ordered mine on oct 6th from AT&T store. Still on back order here.

I'm keeping tabs on progress for my daughter's new phone. Her 3G has a severely cracked screen (with packing tap holding it together) and a bandaid over the sound buttons. She passed on a new 4S, last June to wait for the 5.

Hey guys....I got up this morning and started doing some poking around online and found a local Best Buy with 32gb iPhone 5s in stock. Went straight there and picked up two. They had 6 on hand.
I am in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and the Best Buy website showed several stores that have the phones in stock. If you are in the DFW area and are wondering the specific store, it was the one in Grapevine at hwy 26 and hwy 114.
Just an FYI before you run to buy.....Call ahead. The first store I called said yes they have them, but the ones they have are promised for pre-orders. Another thing to keep in mind, I called ATT to cancel my order. They said they can't cancel it because it's already processed and on backorder. I don't understand why...but that's what theys said. So they are still going to ship me 2 and I am going to be charged for them. Luckily I have the money to cover it in my account, but beware of doing this if you don't. They said I just have to refuse the shipment and they will credit the money back to my checking account.

I've been silently stalking this thread, hoping to find comfort in knowing that I'm not the only one playing the waiting game
It's great to see that the October orders are finally getting off b/o and being shippied. I was told by a representative that I mine should be shipped between Oct. 25 - Nov. 5, so I'm hoping I could have it in my hands sometime next week. As of a few minutes ago, my order is still on b/o ![]()

It would mean another delay in receiving it, but, yes, they could cancel it. So I called them, got routed to a couple of "wrong departments" before finally getting the right one. Sure enough, they canceled it. The guy acted like it was no big deal and reset my upgrade eligibility.
The OMG part? I just got off the Apple website where I checked inventory (after 10pm local time), found one instock at an Apple store, ordered it and will be able to pick it up as soon as I get a "ready for pick-up" email....probably tomorrow or Friday!!!
So, friends, the lesson I learned is to keep asking and pestering them until you get the answer you want!! It absolutely makes a difference who answers the customer service phone line.
Of course, if it takes another 2 weeks to get that email.....hahaha. I'll check in and let you know if there are any hidden road blocks. I really hope not because, I'm feeling rather euphoric tonight!

yeah, it is possible to cancel an order but I decided that I already waited for 3 weeks so why not just wait a little longer. Congrats on getting an iPhone on Apple's site. My lesson is learned, wait in line when the next phone comes out or not order from att. my sister had this same experience with the iPhone 4s and told me to order from apple not att, after I ordered from att.

I ordered 1 white 16GB and 1 Black 16GB on the 1st of October and it just came off backorder. So how long from coming off of backorder to ship? Does anyone have a ballpark?

Rather whan waiting for it come in, returning it and starting over, I jumped at the chance to cancel this order and reorder now. I figured, why not check Apple inventory tonight? If nothing was available, I'd reorder tomorrow with ATT. Never thought there would actually be one in stock at a local store. The stars were lined up in perfect order for me...probably used up every ounce of luck I'll ever have on this deal!

Just an observation...and chime in and correct me if Im wrong but if youve ordered from Att wethher it be from a store or phone or online, the minute people get tracking info from UPS/Fedex, that means the phone is in the states?
People that ordered from apple are getting tracking info coming from china.
The cool thing about this is that most people see the point of origin being DFW, and it jsut so happens that I live 5 minutes from DFW...I actually work in DFW!! ![]()
