I ordered a white 16g on October 5 at 5pm in store --- my shipping status was "processing" until monday and now my shipping status says "backordered" ---- it is my understanding from reading these posts that after it comes off of BO it still has several days before it is actually shipped..... is this correct? ------- And if so ..... what kind of day am I looking at? I really thought AT&T would be on the ball with this one ...... I guess I'm too optimistic ......

First of all, back order is not an AT&T issue. It's an Apple issue. From most people, it's taken only a few hours to get shipping info, once it comes of BO (may take longer if it comes off BO at the end of the work day). From that point, it ships the next day. You'll get next day delivery, if you live reasonably close to DFW (let's say within 500 miles). 2 days if not. As far as your order is concerned.... White 16GB are clearing BO 2 order days per day and today we should start seeing 10/1 orders come off back order. I'd guestimate that your 10/5 order is very likely to come off BO, by Friday, with a delivery date of next Tuesday or Wednesday (this is an educated guess, not a promise).

My order went through on October 22nd for a white 16gb. I'm guessing I won't be seeing the phone for quite some time.

I'd wager, far sooner than you think. I would be surprised if you don't have it in hand by 11/10.

All orderes show processing even if your order is on backorder......from day one. Only when it comes off BO will you see status changes. Patience my young Padwan....lol

I apologize if I came across harshly. There's been a lot of AT&T bashing on in these forums, for issues that are out of their control (like BO). Don't get me wrong, I don't think that AT&T is perfect, but they don't deserve to be bashed for Apple's performance (they are at the mercy of Apple just like the rest of us).

I am going to put in my input on this thread just to help out newcomers. This Order Status website is better than the My Orders on the AT&T site. Go here and it shows what you will need to share along to other newcomers.

AT&T Wireless Order Status Just do by your Wireless number, zipcode (store's zip if you placed order to ship to store) and enter Capcha.

Glad to see all of you starting to come off BO now. I was 9/28 16GB WHT and I finally got shipping number and "Shipped" status. I was on the Pre-Order thread for like 3 weeks and it really helps to keep you sane and see where the "queue" is. Good luck to all of you and hang in there. It is starting to move WAY faster!!

FINALLY I decide to make an acct., especially since I see the BO are coming off for Oct. I ordered on 10/10 16gb white, my first iphone ever..! So Im estimating the time frame of my shipment to be somewhere between Oct. 6-13, problem is, I will be out of town if it ships during that time.. So, has anyone been able to change the shipping address on their order???

More than likely it will be durning mid November. Though there is a chance that the phones will start shipping super duper fast in the next couple days. I wouldn't count on that though.

Things appear (al least to me) to be moving a bit faster. Watching the other "pre-order" thread, people were posting on 10/20 about orders placed on 9/22 still coming off BO. Posts today about 10/1 orders starting to ship. Still a snail's pace, but maybe a slightly faster snail....

Ordered a blk 16g on 10/13 and am expecting (hoping!) it to ship sometime next week. Thurs Nov 1 = 14 business days.

yea i am not counting on it but what makes you say that hblamo?

I assume your asking about when I say that there is a chance that the phones will ship faster.

The only reason I think that is because we've gotten past most of the pre-orders (I think).

So most everyone waiting now are people who ordered after the iPhone came out retail.

In theory there is less of us, so we should be going through orders at a much faster rate. (I believe we are at a 2:1 as of now)

I ordered a white 16gb iPhone on 10/4. Still on backorder. Here's to hoping things keep moving quicker and quicker. Thanks to all who have posted about their model phone, order date and getting off BO!! I can't wait to post that message.
