iPhone Model: One black and one white, both 16GB

Time Pre-Ordered: On 10/7 on the phone at 10.30am (NY- EST time), confirmation email received on 10/8 at 11/00am

Method Ordered: Over the phone with ATT

Order Status: Shipped with tracking number and scheduled to arrive tomorrow by 3pm! (One via fedex and one via UPS, coming from Texas.)

I ordered two phones on 10/7 at 10.30am over the phone via att, i received the confirmation email the next day- 10/8 around 11.00am and since then until 4.00pm (6 hours ago) the status update stayed at 'pending shipment' and it was showing as backordered. I was pretty certain until 2-3 hours ago that I would no way be getting it tomorrow. However, all of a sudden around 5pm (NY time) I saw the update change- the quantity went from 1 to o in backordered and after 1-2 hours it said 'shipped. The black iphone ordered was processed first, the white a little later- however a few hours ago it said 'pending shipment' as it did since i places the order- but then next step from there is going to be 'shipped' with a tracking number for either UPS of Fedex- and most likely its going to be mailed to get to you by the next day. 

I also know a friend who placed the order on 10/7 at 5.00PM (NY Time) which seems late right? Well his order was also processed today around 4-5pm and its scheduled to arrive tomorrow. So if you ordered on 10/7- you might get yours tomorrow or Saturday! Good luck all!

I still don't get any info via the order status check (both online and phone). Charge is gone from bank account... AT&T, this is why I will never subscribe to any other of your services!

Well, I preordered in store on the morning of the 7th and I still don't have a charge in my bank acct, so I'm 99% sure I'm not getting mine tomorrow.  The CSR I talked to earlier today basically guaranteed me that my order wouldn't ship for another 14-21 days.

I just can't fathom that people can walk into a store tomorrow and pick up a new phone, yet I ordered mine a week ago and I wont get it for possibly another 3 weeks.  There's no way anyone could ever explain that to me in a way that would make sense.  It's absurd.

I'm tired of these shenanigans.

For those who want to get the phone TOMORROW

There is a way to cancel your preorder dont listen to the att main reps. I went to my store a little while ago and they found a way to cancel my preorder and keep my upgrade status, so all you have to do is go to the store tomorrow morning and get it. Yes there is a limited availability but just get there early enough and you will be fine. I suggest you go to the store and have them actually cancel it if you want this phone tomorrow

@red_star I feel that same way. I don't understand how someone who didn't order should be able to get one before us who ordered a week ago. It totally defeats the purpose of "pre-ordering", which to me means I will get the item on release day without having to wait in line outside of a store.

I ordered on AT&T premier website around 11AM on 10/7 but it still says back-ordered. I got confirmation email on 10/7 at 11:14AM saying that expected delivery date is 14 October. Some people here are reporting that they received shipping info with tracking number even though they ordered after me. What kind of priority system is this? It doesn't look like first come first serve basis.

My point exactly. There was a post earlier of a person that said they preordered at about 10 pm and got a shipping email with tracking number for delivery tomorrow. Can't remember if it was eastern, pacific, etc. or how they preordered. But, regardless, that means that the first come, first served is out the window. It's all a bunch of lies and misinformation, apparently.

I don't know if someone said this in an earlier post, or not. But, AT&T's order status page is down. Maybe they did ship some that aren't showing and their trying to fix it. We probably won't be so lucky.

Well I orders a 32gb Black in the store at approximately 11:20AM on October 7th. I got confirmation email of order within a few minutes. BUt when I check my order status, i see the item processing but my order status is Backordered, with no estimate shipping date at all:-(

I have been ranting on this forum and to customer service for the last couple of days. Customer service finally told me today that i would not get a phone for another 3-4 weeks because my pre-order from the 7th did not post until the 9th. Now, tonight at 9:15 CST i get a ship notification and my phone will arrive before 3pm tomorrow. I don 't have a clue what happened. maybe the iphone gods have blessed me this time.

I hope everyone else gets the good news too.

The funny thing about all of this is that I have a tracking number, but I still cannot find my order status online ANYWHERE with any number. Its crazy!!!

yes, i finally received it tonight at 7:21PM pacific time. fed ex says that it will be delivered tomorrow by 3pm and its coming from texas but....the fed ex lady when i called said the fort worth facility is not fed ex, its the att warehouse and none of the phones have left the warehouse yet and to check back tomorrow to see.

ordered at 3 phones 11 pacific time on 10/7. got confirmations at 6pm on 10/8 and 7pm central time (two separate orders).

i actually got my shipping info before my parents and they ordered theirs before me. crazy.

Yes. I figured it out and called ATT at 611 and hit zero to get ahold of a Rep.  I ordered mine at 5:40am PST  The order # we got if you look at the last four digits on the premier e-mail you will notice when u go to your ATT account it will have those last four as the first four.

So here is what Att told me. Apple was not expecting high volume of a million orders. So that is why alot of customers are on back order. My brother inlaw said this is typical of ATT to blame it on Apple. He stated Att preorderd from Apple. So Att did not think they would have such a high volume.

So dang we would have been better off going to an actual apple store on Friday or had ordered it through Apple on the 7th.

So Att has a specific statement they read putting it back on Apple. Att knows I was upset they gave me a 25.00 credit. So now I have to wait. All I can say is it better be worth it or back it goes. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ordered through ATT premier ( The Iphone Att upgrader app) on Oct 7th at 8 AM. My status on premier website says, pre-orered but it was last updated on 10/10. And when I go to my orders in my att account its a totally different order number and the date order shows Oct 8th??.. I have no clue whats going on.. Anyone have any advise..

I also ordered on 10/7 at AT&T premier website around 11AM and got confirmation email saying that it is scheduled to be delivered on 10/14 but I still don't have any tracking number. My status on premier website also says, pre-orered but it was last updated on 10/10. In my at&t account it has a different order number and order date shows 10/10. Weird things are going on with at&t. I don't understand why premier customers are delayed.

So I got my tracking number a few days ago. Lol but I was curious if anyone else tracking # is super slow to receive updates. I know my phone will get here today but Im not gonna lie when ever I get a package I like to watch the tracking movements, its fun to see where a package is been and going. Just chatted with a att rep regarding my order, that was placed on10/7 at a store and she told me, my order has not been shipped and they have no idea when my order will shipped. Thanks. So explain to me what was the purpose of pre order when I could have gone to the store today and picked it up today. I would figure, they would make sure the people who preordered would get theres first, but I guess Customer Service dont exist anymore.
