iOS 6 Complaints

I knew I shouldn't have done it. I was very skeptical about upgrading my iPhone 4's software to the "latest and greatest" version of iOS, iOS 6. To put it simply, I really don't like it. My Wi-Fi connection is noticeable weaker and always throws me off. I have to wait a couple minutes for it to come back. I never, ever had this problem when I was on 5.1.1.

Also, iMessage is very screwy and tempermental. It works on some Wi-Fi networks, but not others. I'm unable to send picture messages somehow after the update, when I once praised my phone's ability to send much quicker MMS messages than my Android Captivate Galaxy S did.

Not sure what to think at the moment. I can only hope that Apple releases a new software update that will fix these [major] issues for myself, as well as others.

Hopefully for the short term, iTunes will finally offer a roll-back feature. *fingers crossed*

Cafeful. hey are going to get stuck in that position waiting so long. Apple will never allow you to roll back.

Here's to a speedy update that will address your issues.

Banchi: Did you upgrade and use a backup or did you upgrade and set up as a new device without using a backup. I upgraded my iPhone 4 that I sent to my mom and didn't have those issues. But I didn't use a backup on mine and no issues with picture messaging.

1. When I upgraded, on a 3GS phone, all my apps were scattered across numerous pages. Most with 1or 2 per page. I consolidated them, now iTunes won't sync the apps, says something to the effect that it can't verify apps on the iPhone. Not gonna fret this much, have iPhone 5 on order will worry about it if it doesn't fix itself.

2. YouTube gone. Ok, I just downloaded the app.

3. App Store too many graphics, too hard to use. Give us back the old simple lust.

4. I play mp3 books in iTunes. Prior to ios6 when I stopped the play, I could return to iTunes and as long as I had not played another song it would resume at the same spot as I left it. Now it goes to the beginning of the segment (mp3) that I was listening to nth is is very aggravating!

5. I have found times that while trying to sent a simple SMS text message the phone shows s full signal with 3G displayed yet gives a "not delivered" error. I can then go thru settings and turn off 3G and send the message with no errors.

Looks like Apple rushed this IOS thru without sufficient testing so it would be available the same time as iPhone 5!

Not sure what is going on with peoples phones but I updated my 4 connected to my MBP and did not have any of those issues I updated all my apps and backed it up before the upgrade with a fully charged battery.

There is a jailbreak for iOS6 (Probably not released yet but it has been done)...so maybe you can use some jailbreak tools to spice up your phone....though it shouldnt be necessary

I had previously been using an iPhone 3GS that I had backed up all my music and apps to in iTunes. I then upgraded to an iPhone 4 over the summer and synced my music and some apps to it. Some apps did not sync to the new phone, which I don't know why.

I updated my phone to iOS 6 straight from the phone without using a backup, if that should matter...

I wouldn't mind going back to 5.1.1 at all. I had absolutely no issues with it and it made my iPhone very smooth and easy to use. I wouldn't mind losing a few features such as "Do not Disturb" and Passbook. I miss the YouTube app, too.

I seriously am getting frustrated with my lack of ability to send MMS messages to people that don't have iPhones and utilize iMessage. I try to send a MMS message over 3G, it tries to send for 3 seconds, then fails and says, 'Not Delivered.'

I would do almost anything to go back to iOS 5.1.1, unless anyone knows of a fix.

i do not like the look of the app store now or the Geinus look. this sucks!!! i want 5.1 back i should have never updated to this IOS..

The drawback to older iOS is any improvements or upgrades will require the newest iOS.

The clincher here is why are some experiencing troubles and others are not so far iOS6 works great on my iPhone 4.

That's a bummer iOS 6 works perfect on my 4S guess we all have map issues though right?

I'm known to keen on the new Podcast application myself and miss the old way
Of having podcasts in my music wish apple left it alone

works fine on a 3GS also

As far as the mapping software, it is still in alpha, they never got the field test reports becasue the team is so lost from using the new Apple Maps application they are not sure what planet they are on or what century.

Downloaded the google version and all is right with the world now

did you try a network reset? Not seeing those issues on either the 4, 4s or 3GS

I don't know that these issues are really due to the software itself. If that were the case, wouldn't a lot more people be reporting them? I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 with none of the problems mentioned here. I also upgraded my friend's iPhone 4. Zero problems. I then received my iPhone 5 with iOS 6 pre-installed of course. Again, zero problems. If anything, the new iOS seems to produce noticeably better battery life than what we've experienced before. Goodness knows my call quality is better.

I have noticed that my call quality has improved along with the fact the apps seem to open a little faster.

Apple should makes the iOS6 in many different versions for iPod, iPad, iPhone. because in iPod nothing specially changes from iOs 5 to iOS6. Map is not much clear than google map, n the nevigation problem is to high. YouTube has gone, even from the store Youtube was installed, but prolem occuring there. AppStore condition is very worst. Apple should take more time to release a people demanding awesome n surprising graphics OS n also very fast n user friendly which will run like butter smooth.

at least google maps did not put my destination in the middle of the Ohio river like apple maps did when I was trying to meet someone.

To make different version if the IOS for mobile devices would violate Apple tenet - "one IOS to rule them all"

I have no complaints at all so far with the newest iOS 6 update. I updated my daughters iPhone 4 and my old iPhone 4S last weekend and have not experienced anything negative since that time. iOS 6 is running great on my new iPhone 5 as well. Haven't used the new Maps app that much so far but it did work ok during the one or two times that I did test it. I must admit that I still prefer the Navigon app that I've been using for a few years now, and will continue to use that as my navigation app of choice.

Pay close attention to the third page where someone mentions AT&T GoPhone, because my iPhone is a prepaid GoPhone. However, I do not have any custom APNs installed. I pretty much have a bare bones contract iPhone, without the contract service. No hacks or anything.

I don't think the fact that my iPhone is prepaid would have to do anything with my inability to send MMS messages? It worked GREAT before - best out of any phone I've ever used.

After upgrading my iPhone 4s to iOS I'm only experiencing frequent reboots and the app store doesn't look nice anymore

all the Apple fan was waiting for a very high quality OS in OS6, but iOS 6 not more special n user friendly n outlook than iOS5. most of the people are having problem with iOS6 and also wanna back to iOS5. Apple should take time to release iOS6 as a very high end graphics, many new user friendly tools, very smooth iOS. they should join the new age competition of Smartphone OS, like Android Jelly bean, Windows 8 mobile edition. most of the Apple fan are disappointed about iOS6

I upgraded 3 4s' and 2 4's and we have experienced no problems. No one I know has said anything about experiencing problems with it. Actually, we love the new update!

I think that the new App Store looks similar to the Android one now
But i Preferred the old apple unique one more!

Btw guess with next update apple will sort the maps really isn't a biggy issue
For me I bearly used the maps besides!

I think best thing for ios6 for me is that Siri can search UK businesses finally!
