Has anyone had any problem with their at&t incoming e-mail messages going straight to "trash?" I recently upgraded from a iPhone 3g to the new 4s and first it kept saying my password was incorrect and I coudn't get e-mails. Finally got that resolved (just seemed to quit) after putting in the same password over and over and jumping thru all the customer service hoops. Then I could see my e-mails trying to download briefly, then they would disappear and I figured out they were in trash. Apple thinks it's a problem with at&t, since I am able to get my gmail messages on this phone.

I would delete the email account on your iPHone, resart your iPHone then re-enter the account. Something may be messed up and it is just easier to set it up again.
This does assume your are using iMAP or sync and not a pop account.

After sitting at my computer with my iphone in hand and accessing e-mail, I figured out that e-mails from my AT&T account download on my phone fine until I click my mail icon on the pc and they download to the pc. When they download there, the same ones on my iphone go immediately to "trash." Same with gmail account, once I delete them on the web from my pc, they also go into "trash" on the phone. I am using Outlook on my pc and POPS account.

Did you resolve the issue? I am having the exact same problem and it is KILLING me. Apple says its not their problem and ATT can't seem to fix it. My son has an iPhone 4s, we have the same e-mail provider, and it is not an issue for him!

Debbie, (this message is from Janfromky)
I did get my problem resolved. I'm using Microsoft Outlook for my mail. Here's what I did:
In Outlook, under Tools, go to EMail Accounts. Under e-mail click "view or change existing e-mail accounts" then click "next".
Click "change", "more Settings", "advanced" tab.
under "advanced tab", click "delivery", THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART THAT FIXED MY PROBLEM--- Under "delivery" put a check mark in "leave a copy on the server", then click "OK".
It was deleting my messages from the server when they downloaded to my computer, and then I couldn't access them on my iphone!
