And yes there WAS another incident at Foxconn Friday, although Foxconn is denying a strike. Not sure who to believe there: the Chinese state media or Foxconn public relations.

This one actually makes sense, especially the part about having problems keeping up the production schedule, while making sure there are no scratches on the case.

I can't imagine ever recomending att to anyone. 9/18 16 GB white, stilll on BO. I have wasted so much time reading this forum. I can't believe I am actually posting. I already have two cases for my phone. Maybe I will just pretend my phone is in it. lol

Hey guys!! So I ordered two white 16gbs on 9/17. On 10/4 Att sent an email saying the phones had been shipped. I got a tracking number and the delievery is scheduled for 10/8. It arrived in my city yesterday (10/5) so it looks like it is on schedule.
***I also did not get a confirmation email, so I ended up calling att on 9/18 to make sure everything went through. She had to sign the "confirmation email" for me and told me the phones would be shipped between the 5th and 16th.

The strike sounds like a smart move, for them anyway. They probably knew they were going to go on strike so that they can get paid more, and so what they did was hold back the Iphone 5 orders, because the company needs them to deliver it. Hopefully they will get paid and ship ASAP.
I ordered on 9/23 and accepted the Terms the next day. Of course I haven't been waiting as long as most of you but I am still very eager to get my phone. My dad called a few days ago and they said that it could ship anywhere from October 22nd to sometime early November, I forgot the exact date the said. Originally they did tell me 21-28 days. I order a white 16gb phone for AT&T.
My status is still 1 on backorder. Has anyone who ordered around or after the 23rd received theirs yet or at least some shipping info?

to make matters worse when i called to check my order status i am being told that now it wont ship till 21st oct. When i asked to cancel my order, i am being told i cant. I asked for a supervisor to see if i can just cancel all of my lines since i am out of contract, without bring the supervisor on line i am told that i cant even cancel my service because my order is processing and once i receive the phones i can cancel then. ATT cancellation policy is 30 days, if i dont get the phone till after 21st, it will be passed the grace period and i will be stuck in a contract. I again asked for a supervisor and after being placed on hold for over 11 minutes i got hung up on.
NOW I AM FURIOUS. time to report this issue to BBB. enough is enough, i patiently kept waiting and kept agreeing to their responses, but after todays experience i cant be nice anymore.

My black 16gb ordered on 9-18 shows shipped complete with trackng number as of today. White 16 ordered on 20th still backordered.
Edit: It's coming from Ft.Worth too so it should get here maybe Monday or Tuesday.
Edit: Its overnighted and Monday is the delivery date.

I'm close to cancelling and going to Verizon right now...
I ordered a black 16 gig i5 on the 18th and have had friends who ordered afterwards that have gotten their phones- inversely I my best friend ordered his on the 14th and still hasn't gotten his...I'm really really not a fan of AT&T right now- I've called in several times since the 18th and every time I've been told that the shipping time has been pushed back and one time I was even lied to and told it already shipped and I couldn't cancell- I said oh really, why hasn't my credit card been charged yet? I was also told that orders were being filled as they come in... Really? Why does a Pal of mine have his 16g black that he ordered on the 21st already?
I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired with ATT...

They give priority to new accounts, of that I have no doubt. Plus, they have stores they have to ship to. I know it is frustrating, I have a white 16 that is still on backorder. They are aparantly working today though because i got my update today so hang in there.

I still give them a 0 for communications. lol. An e-mail saying hey, we are still working on your order would have been nice. But, I run an online business and it is time consuming to send those out which means the messages would be automated and that would not have calmed me much. I hope you get your shipping e-mail soon. Keep an eye out on your spam e-mail too, that is where mine went.

I work in a business where speed and service are everything... As difficult as I work to make people happy it frustrates me to work with or give money to companies who dont care about service.
Especially when that company is as notorious as ATT is for nickle and diming it's customers to death as it is.... It all adds up to whether all the headache and frustration is worth it- it's certainly not fair... That's for sure...

Rediculous isn't it? Meanwhile there are still people who ordered earlier than we did- much earlier that haven't recieved their phones but people who have ordered much later than we did have theirs already.
ATT is going the long way to conserve their existing customer base!

The white phones seem to be the worst as far as delays. I was told mine (white 16) that I bought on the 20th would be shipped between the 18th-30th of this month. If you all on the 17th and 18th are still on backorder then they must be really behind on the white phones.

Got a tracking number for a 17th sep 16ghz blk posted order....@ ft worth tx now....to be delivered Monday.
called FedEx to see if they can reroute it to work addressand they said all the shipments classified as no reroute, one time try only, no hold at location Which means if no one is there to claim they will ship it back immediately. So I have to skip work and wait for it all day....the things they make u do to receive a package....
anyway I guess im not out of the woods yet. just hope I can get hold of it on Sunday.

As frustrating as it is, I think it is more of Apple's fault than AT&T. Also, are they really prioritizing new accounts? I signed with AT&T and ordered my white 16gb iPhone 5 10:00 AM September 19th and I am still on back order.
