I believe 16gb white is the longest probably we have to wait for.

It's been 14 days since i pre-ordered 3 white 16GB and still stuck on back ordered one. this is ridiculous!

I am in the same boat...after at least half a dozen calls to the CSR at premier, I finally spoke to someone knowledgable on Tuesday 10/2.  Apple did not send enough white 16g phones to ATT, therefore there was a severe shortage.  According to the CSR, ATT needed to put in a massive order for these phones to cover the demand.  She told me ATT warehouse finally received that shipment on Monday 10/1.  the change in backorder status from 1 to 0 is good (so they say).  That means your phone is in that shipment and just needs to be sorted and shipped.  I an disgusted with ATT LACK of communication.  One mass email explaining the situation would have gone a long way!!  She also stated that the phones affected by this shortage was white 16g, 32g and the black at 64g.  She said we can expect shipping between 10/5 and 10/17...uugghhh. I have so lost my excitement over this phone and I will NEVER preorder with ATT again.  I will go straight to Apple! They better ship these babies FAST!!! They should  over night them to smooth over the outrage they have caused.  BTW, my husband ordered his after mine and he received it last week (because the black 16g was not in this mass shortage)...whatever, not right!

I ordered on 14th 6:30 am EST and got an email that my order is under Attention status on 18th. I called and the rep said that the system declined my credit card for no reason and he'd push my order through. As a result this made my order pushed to 19th even though rep said  there will be no changes to the date. such a b!@#$

anyway, here is my status to share.

i am running out of my patience here...  my brother who ordered at 7AM on 14th got it on 21st.. under same family account.. same 16g iphone 5 white order.. oh well, getting screwed by their system glitch is just ridiculous.

I was told that i would recieve my phone 1 to 2 days after the phone releases by the CSR that processed my black 16GB on the 18th. Then i was told that it would come in two weeks. Now i'm being told that it will take 3-4 weeks. 

I really hope that i can get my phone this week. This is turning out to be more trouble than it's worth.

I pre-ordered 3 16gb iphones on Sept 14th. They did not process until Sept 15th. However when I logged in to check my at&t status it stated that I placed my order on the 24th of September. I went from being told 3-5 days to 14-21 days, to my item wont ship until Halloween. I spoke to five General CR's to get my order cancelled yesterday and each of them told me that because it was sent to the warehouse they couldn't cancel it. THAT IS A LIE! DO NOT SPEAK TO THE GENERAL CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS.

After I called that number, my order was cancelled in less than 5 minutes without hassle.

Last night, after canceling, I decided to try purchasing a phone after Pm on apples website for personal pick-up. At 10:38 pm my store switched from out of stock to in stock. Funny enough, it actually worked and I am going to pick up the phone from a local mall today. There's no reason that anyone should have to wait a month and a half for a phone that they pre-ordered. 


So if you're getting impatient just as I did. Cancel and try your local store's personal pick - up

Mine said the same thing, it only means the warehouse recieved your order. Mine stayed that way for weeks until I cancelled it.

Call ATT order status - spoke with CS - they told me it shows like ur order will be shipped between October 08 - October 17!

Backorder 0 for a sep 17th order for the last week. Called AT&T and was told shipping between 5th-17th even though they say everything is already in stock and available. Seriously thats the best info you can give...a 12 day window for an item you agree is available...

Officially give up all hope.........

I WILL BE CALLING TO CHECK STOCK EVERYDAY AT STORES UNTILL MY ORDER IS FULLFILLED OR THEY HAVE AN IPHONE 5 AT THE STORE. THIS IS  WASTING TIME IN MY LIFE . I called today and they told me my order is supposed to ship Oct 9th.. which would be 14 business days from the day  my order processed... ugh.

Yep, for reasons beyong me wven though I ordered on the 14th. I have an order date of 18th for 1 phone and 20th for the other.

Looks like all the people ordering on the 17th got theirs and have stopped posting on this forum because they are enjoying their phone.

Still waiting for 16GB WHT. Guess everyone with this color and Memory is in the same boat. No one at ATT knows anything they do not have a system that tells them when the phone will ship out they are making guestimates. They do not have access to the inventory log or shipment receiving dates. Thats my guess . If the 17th were shipped all us 18th can count on getting them shipped today tomorrow or early next week

I have an order on 17th and I still havent received mine....I think its the 32's and the 64's of the 17th and later that are being shipped...

no. my status has been showing "pending shipment" for weeks.

I think the next steps should be backorder 0 -> showing shipped -> get your tracking number -> receive your iPhone.

Date ordered showing online as 9/19.

Came off Back Order 10/2

Shipping Info appeared 10/3 (about 12 hours from back order coming off until shipping info available)

Shipping with UPS on 2nd Day Air.

Thanks to some nerds on others forums I knew to look for a flight going to Philly. Sure enough a flight took off just after my departure scan from DFW Airport, TX.  UPS has a handful of air hubs around the USA (check wikipedia page and you should be able to work out which one serves your part of the country) But tracking UPS flights is definitely going into crazy obessive territory!! No real need to check anything more than your normal UPS tracking page once you have shipment number (however, it may be of limited use to know when flights normally come in/out)

My delivery date is stated By end of day Friday 10/5 (tomorrow).
