no one here can answer that, best bet is to call or stop in at your local carrier store, you might also try local apple sotres or places like Best Buy

pre-ordered on 9/17/2012; I am being told it will ship "sometime" between October 5 and 16.  This is pretty unacceptable.  The phone rep on the line (when I called 877-782-8870) could only tell me I'm sorry repeatedly.  She also said they had 2 million available for pre-order and those sold old "immediately."  But that information was not made public whenever they were encouraging people to pre-order their phones AFTER those two million sold out.

I expected better when pre-ordering, especially considering that it appears people who pre-ordered after me are receiving phones.  I was given some story about how long it took your "order to process" but mine processed IMMEDIATELY after I made the order.  I was never offered any kind of credit, either.  I kept waiting for the offer, but no.

Very disappointed by this.  I will not pre-order online from AT&T again.

Hello To Everyone In Back Order  World

Ordered On The 14th...@ Night @ my local At&t Mall Kiosk.

Placed $100 Deposit On A White 64.

I never recieved any shipping info, just a," we will call you when your phone arrives" line.

They said they get a shipment almost everyday.

I have called every other day since then..

They just tell me I'm 4th on the list..3rd..2nd..in line for the white 64.

Called today & Now I'm first in line. I was 4th over 2 weeks ago.

So I Should Have it by Easter @ this rate.

I WILL NEVER Pre Order AGAIN!!!!!!!!

I ordered my i5 on the 14th, requested to change the shipping address and the CSR said that they would have to cancel the order and place a new one with the correct address.  They cancelled the order without placing a new one so I called and nicely rose cain until the reinstated my original order... or so they said.  When it was all said and done, my order had been cancelled twice, escalated (whatever that means) and a new order had been placed on 9/21.  I'm so frustrated with ATT Premier I could just burst.  

I orderd a black 16gb - would it be too risky to cancel the whole thing and order for in-store pick-up through Apple?  There are two apple stores near me but I don't want to cancel it if its going to magically ship soon.  The CSR today told me that it is still backordered (as reflected on the site) and that it won't ship until 10/11 - 10/22.

We've been customers for almost 10 years.  This is insane.

I pre-ordered my iPhone 5 16 GB on 9/19.  All it's said is processing and on backorder for sim card and phone. 

Talked to sales rep in retail store and she said you should see something in a couple of days, and that was last wednesday...man, I'm tired of waiting for my phone! I know people are probably doing their best, but how can they have phones in the stores for people to walk in and buy when I'm stuck here who pre-ordered it and waiting???

Another fail in the process. Apple should be shifting production toward the 16s and 32s that are still over two weeks backordered in favor of the 64s that are shipping in three days or less.

Ordere i5 16gb black on 18th, says processing. I also got an i5 16gb white on the 20th which says backordered.

@samature: had a similar experience to urs. Noticed the shipping address was my previous home address in the terms of service . So called at and t and the CSR said the only way they could correct it was to cancel and redo the order which I said was insane but she said no other way. I knew the shipping would be backdated so said would rather deal by talking to FedEx or post office instead of canceling.

I hear you...istill am waiting for my 17th order. I would suggest holding on. The in the hope that we get this hopefully b4 Xmas...:-)

UPS has an interesting way of handling 2nd Day Air.

According to their tracking info, the phone arrived at their facility at DFW on Friday afternoon (9/29). It "departed" the airport at 11:19 AM on Monday. It was then "processed" at 4:16PM and I was finally given a delivery date on Wednesday. It seems that UPS can shift the start time on 2nd Day Air to fit with what it considers to be "on time."

I know I'm being picky, but am learning why Apple uses FedEx.

lol that is pretty funny and messed up at the same time. I'm not sure where your located RicPDX but its been my experience with UPS (and I've had quite a bit) that they usually deliver a day earlier than their estimated delivery date unless that scheduled delivery date is on a Monday. I don't want to get your hopes up but it's very possible that your delivery may come tomorrow.

I certainly hope so because I think we have ALL waited long enough!

Funny...i think we're on the same schedule.  2nd day air means our phones should be delivered Tues, the 2nd day, but it seems they don't don't the time it took to get to their hub in DFW and the time it takes for it to leave there.  It should be called 3rd day air.

Anybody else in the same boat?  I order my Iphone5 early morning on 09/14 and my order still shows as "processing".  

I have called ATT three times now and each call has ended in frustration.  A bunch of "I am sorry, don't know what's going on with your order".  

During today's call the customer service rep insisted that I placed my order on the 21st.  When I explained to him that I had an email reply proving that I had preordered on the 14th, he told me the only way to clear things up was to bring a copy of my email into an ATT store?

The reason I ordered online was because I don't have time to go to a store.  

Anybody else order their phone that first day and still waiting?  I feel helpless when calling ATT.

I placed my order on the 16th and as of 8:30 pm today Oct 1st it still says processing. This is not very good service from Apple nor AT&T.. They should have projected more sales than what they really did to start with and alot of us would not be having this issue we are having. I can guarantee they lost or will lose alot of customers over this issue they are having with the back order of this phone. Very bad business on both company's.

You have plenty company. I ordered on 9/14 via phone with service rep and responded to terms and condition via email right away yet my order date is 9/17. Not sure what they did for 3 days on my order.

What is even more frustrating is AT&T seems to be fulfillng some newer orders before the people who have been waiting since pre-order.

I feel like got my order got lost and I am just getting the run-around. ATT did run my CC card to make sure my order would go through on either 09/20 or 09/21. It is not a credit issue.

I just wish I could get a straight answer somewhere. "Preorder Processing" 18 days after I ordered is not acceptable.

Are you opening up a new account from At&t? Credit & Activation dept may have hold on you. I had a similar case as you do, which ended up getting cancelled by one of the stupid customer representative.

If you order online you may not get that email. I ordered over the phone so appently I had to do that via email. I think my pre-order should get off back-order this week but yes I agree that this took alot of the fun and joy out of getting the new toy although this one is for my wife.

The trials and tribulations of AT&T CSR.... I was finally able to cancel my order after being on the phone for more than an hour with three different reps and once getting hung up on. I had to guide some misinformed reps that, yes, I can still cancel when my ship date won't be until Sept 8. Finally got it done!
I can't stress enough if you can, use Apple's pick up service if its available to you...hope everyone gets their "pre-orders" soon!
