When will the pre-ordered iPhone 5 ship?

I was in the same situation.  I've been trying to pick up on a pattern of how they're being sent out.  Great news?  There isn't one.  They don't seem to be sending these out in any particular order whatsoever.  I believe it depends on what model you ordered, but the time you ordered doesn't seem to matter at all.  They don't seem to give a crap.

I order my iphone 5 upgrade on the att website on the 14th and I am still in processing... yet a coworker of mine ordered his on the same day and already got his!! What gives? Is mine being delayed becasue I have a discount through my employer for AT&T?

Also how can this be considered a pre order when people have already gotten thier phone in the mail or at stores? I think that AT&T should wave the $36 upgrade charge for people who have had to wait way past their time to get their new device.

I have never really had any issues with AT&T until now and I have to say that at this time I am truly unsatisfied with how this whole pre-order issue has gone. How can someone in the same town who ordered later on that same day as I ordered mine get his Wednesday Spetember 26 and I am still waiting for mine!

I placed an order on Sep. 14th right before my friend in an AT&T store, but he got the phone 2 days ago, while mine is still in processing!! I called the custome service but they told me they can do nothing except checking the order status, I can do that myself! What is the " first come, first served" term for?

I pre ordered my phone around 1 on 14th and shipping still shows as processing. I know some people who pre ordered after I did and they are already using their new phone. so now I'be already been charged for a phone that I have no idea when I'm getting. Thanks a lot At&t.  I

I personally think what people are missing is there are effectively 6 different lines for the Iphone 5.  Due to 3 hard drive sizes and 2 colors, there are 6 different flavors of the phone. 

The color can't change once its made.  The hard drive chip could be changed base on demand, but doubt they do change it once they put it together.  So even if they do process the orders in order, your line might be longer then your friends across town, if he choose a different flavor of the phone.

I paid $200 more then many people (getting the 64 GB) and the girl at the store said she doubted my wait would be too long due to I got the 64 GB. 

I'm not taking up for AT&T, just saying many seem to talk like they are all the exact same phone.  Personally, If the white 16 GB line has a phone for a pre-order that ordered later then myself, I wouldn't want them not to give them there phone just because my is still on back order.

Good news!

I pre-ordered at lunchtime (EDT) on 14-Sep-2012. I got an email confirmation of the order, which said to expect delivery in about 14-21 business days  :-(

BUT ... I  got notification by email this morning that my iPhone5 (32-black) is on a FedEx truck for delivery TODAY by 3PM  - yowzer!!

I ordered my iPhone 5 at the AT&T store on 09/15/12. My order date shows that date. I see people getting tracking numbers that ordered after me. May be a different phone but I see some are the same. Still sitting in the order processing mode. Anyone get a white 32gb that ordered on the 15th from an AT&T retail store?

Well, last night my iPhone 5 stopped saying it was backordered. Went from 1 to 0. That feels like progress but nothing yet on shipping. I ordered in early afternoon on 9/15 in an AT&T store. Appreciate everyone writing their experiences. Don't feel so alone with just Charlie for company!

WOW!  Exciting news for me!  Just checked my Order Status and there was a change from 1 Backordered to 0. Also, got an email from ATT CS that said there was recent activity on my account...what ever that means.  Anyhow, change is good, no matter how small.

Ordered 15th, Blk 32G, ATT online.  Good luck, cause we need it!

So disheartening. I'm on backorder and I ordered 9/24. Now, I'm totally fine with you guys getting your phones first(It should be first come first serve after all) but if you guys ordered the 14th and are still waiting, i'm in for a quite a long wait I fear.

Did you order a comperable model?  Different models and colors will come at different times.

Easy passphrase about the best thing in this whole depressing and yet oddly exciting process.

I pre-ordered IN-PERSON at my local ATT store on 9-18 (2 iphones OUR 1st !!!!!) and I told them that delivery at the ATT store is fine "I'll pick them up when you notify me by phone/email to pick up".

Do you think that was a mistake? Should I have had direct FedEx delivery to my home? I think this whole "5 to 21 business days" and no movement on my "order status" has me all paranoid that the ATT-Store-Employees could sell my iphone to a complainer in the store. Or does it not work that way? Will I still get a delivery status and Fed Ex status but the iphone packages get FedEx'd to the ATT store and do my iphones have a order # that is attached to me only?

This is rediculous. I ordered my 5 on 9/16 over the phone but it processed 9/17 and I am still back ordered. I got my iPhone 5 case today, nothing to put in it though.

I am extremely disappointed in this whole iphone 5 shipping ordeal. I ordered mine the first day pre-orders were available (9/14)(white 32gb) and my order still says PROCESSING. WHAT!? How is it that people who ordered after me are receiving their phones already!? That is honestly ridiculous. Shouldn't it come on a first come, first serve basis? Isn't the whole purpose of pre-ordering is so that you can have the phone the day it comes out in stores??? I know individuals who bought a phone IN STORE. Makes me wish I never pre-ordered, probably would have had my product by now...

A quick question I have for someone who got there FedX delivered and nobody was home.  Did they leave your phone at the door?

Sadly, I got to work Monday, and am single, so nobody will be here when my phone comes.

Any insight on this is appreciated.

My work is close to the FedX terminal, but when I clicked on "leave at the terminal link" it said my order was not eligible for this service.

I certainly complained when ATT failed to live up to iPhone 5 pre-orders, but mine is suppose to arrive today. I just 10 minutes ago got the notice. I ordered before 10:00 a.m. on Friday 9/14. So everyone it seems will get there phones, not in the manner we were led to believe but shipping now. Will it actually arrive? Don't know yet. Will or should I keep it after all this I don't know that either. But if you are addicted to cookies do you turn down one? Will I really send it back?
