I called an said it took them some time to process the orders for premier customers. Are you a Premier customer? Any update on shipping?

Sad that business customers appear to be their last priority in this whole pre-order deal. I keep thinking I should have switched to verizon as they tend to appreciate their business accounts more (judging from my family members that are on company accounts with them.) If I don't get my phone this week, I may go into a Verizon store and see what they can do as we have discounts with both at my office.

Okay, now this is a problem.  I checked online with the ATT order status.  When I put in the order number they emailed me, NOTHING CAME UP.  However!  When I put in my wireless number it said I preordered on 9/16!!!!!!  And I still have the email that was sent to me on 9/14 with my order.  Infuriating.

I ordered iPhone 5 on 14th with promisse to get it on 21st. I just called AT&T and they said that they could not process my order due to low stocks. It will be shipped out between 4th October and 15th October... Are they for real???

Seems most of us are in the same situation. Ordered 9/14 around 11am at the ATT store. First time ordering from ATT. All past generation iphones from Apple...never a problem. Order status still shows processing. Calls to ATT indicate it might ship between Oct 4 - Oct 15. The only reason I ordered from ATT is because my phone is not eligible for an upgrade until April, so I'm upgrading another family member's eligible phone which ATT will swap when they activate it in the store. Guess I have to be patient to save money! The local store had 2 64GB, white iphone 5's in stock this AM....they just sold those. If I do not get by Oct 15, I will have to cancel and wait for a stocks to get up to par.

I usually have a great AT&T Premier experience, but this time has been different.  I ordered two 32GB whites.  One for me and one for my wife.  I placed her order first, then mine.  Got mine on Friday, but not hers.  Very odd AT&T, but the customer service reps have been great for me!

Verizon is much better from my experience in handling things like this. The reason why I'm with At&t is because their data works better in my home and you can fall back on HSPA+ when lTE is not availiable. 

I'm ordered from premier on the 15th in the morning and have the email showing it yet, on my statis page it says the 16th. I also got the info on the 19th.

@ Evandela. Thank you for that but that makes absolutely no sense to me. So my phone is put aside for me. OK well why does it take 14-21 days to ship. I just called ATT and two stores by me have iPhone5 right now.

Im sure im making this a bigger deal than it is, but i feel like ATT has not even tried to help out. And im not the only one who has experienced this issue.

Yet again ATT shows how great they are as a company and how great they treat their customers. Calling in to check on status of your order is a joke. No matter who you speek to its the same answer 14-whatever amount of days. So disapointing.

At least I learned a two lessons from this. Dont trust ATT on anything they say and also dont do any presale.

So when exactly does it start to ship? because i think this is complete stupidity.  not very happy. it would be great if you would let us know when my phone will ship if i ordered it early Saturday morning!

EPIC FAIL on That's part for the ProOrder process. ATT is clueless on the matter. I have talked to so many people already who have been going through same issues everyone is posting. And it seems that everyone is getting different answers if any. 

I personally called 6 times. Tried online chat and going to the Retail Store. And still no answer on when I will get my phone I PRE ORDERED. So whats the point of the ProOrder then? 

Did I miss something or was the purpose of a PreOrder so you can garrantee you will get your product?

I truly hope these giant corporations one day realize what customer service means.  I can’t believe you can be placed on hold for over 20 minutes and when some finally picks up they give you NO answer what so ever.

Just checked the AT&T website and my order had a tracking number. It says my phone should be delivered by 3pm tomorrow.

Just for info. I pre-ordered mine in the AT&T store at 9am central on 9/14. The store rep told me it would SHIP in 5-7 business days. But about an hour later I received the e-mail saying the 14-21 business days as many of you. On Friday 9/21 my backorder number changed from 1 to 0. But I'm still not showing a debit to my bank account as of now. So...

Just wanted to update!

I ordered on 9/14 at 12:20am PST. Removed from back-ordered status on 9/22. and I JUST got status update on AT&T of a tracking number with FedEx and overnight shipping. Should arrive tomorrow!!! I'm so excited!! I hope everyone who is still waiting gets some good news too!!

Update:: I just got a tracking number for FedEx with overnight shipping!! Should arrive tomorrow!! (from TX to CA).

Super excited!! I can barely wait!!

Good luck to the rest of you! Keep patient, it's hard, but it will be worth it when we're all holding our shiny new phones.

For all those people that are getting upset that they didn't get their new iPhone on launch day, remember this for next year because the same thing will happen as has happened for at least the last 4 iPhone releases! This happens EVERY release!

here is the big problem with this whole pre ordering thing. they say first come first serve basis. but yet we are seeing people who have ordered them later then others already getting their phones or have tracking numbers. so tell me how is this fair for people who ordered before others? screwed up pre order system by att!! great job att!!

They told me the same thing when I called too. I ordered at 12:20am PST on 9/14 and I feel the same way about the order of things being out of whack. But I think the Oct. shipping dates is a 'late' estimate. Yours will likely (hopefully!) ship out sooner than that.

The same thing happened to me. My mom has worked for AT&T for over thirty years as a stock advisor and she told me this is the worst she has seen it for ANY phone thus far. I'm rather irritated because I spent two hours on hold to ensure I got my phone the day it came out, but unfortunately that was not the case. So much for customer service.

I finally got my shipment confirmation and tracking number today, Monday, 9/24.  My 32GB Black was ordered in an AT&T store on Friday, 9/14.  The register receipt says 10:55 AM CST.

I don't see my previous message I left anymore. But as promised, if I ever finally received a shipping notification email, even though late since I pre-ordered on 1st day @ 2am & have been loyal AT&T customer, I did receive my shipping email today & FedEx tracking states my iPhone 5 will be delivered tomorrow. I hope this is true. Will update again. Good luck to the rest of you who pre-ordered.

I've seen a lot of TV coverage and stories on how great and how many iphones have been sold, but none talking about, "Where's my preordered iPhone?"  To me, that's the story!  The questions for ATT are, "What does preorder mean?" and "Why aren't they being shipped before instore sales of iphones?"

Yes. I am a "premier" aka shafted customer. I have 5 phones on my plan.

The only reason I am with ATT forever (they used to be Ameritch Cellular then Cingular then ATT) is that I have the unlimited data plan and want to keep it. 

Sometimes I wonder why. They can yank the plan anytime thefleet like it. It is not that we grandfathered customer have any "rights".

I know how you are feeling. I pre-ordered and got my confirmation e-mail at 12:07am on Friday (9/14) and my order still says "processing" as of today. No contact from AT&T except that my order was received. I had to call AT&T for them to tell me that I won't get my phone until sometime between Oct 3rd - 14th.

With ATT's order Status Summary.
Once it's confirmed the phone's being shipped, then you check FedEx or UPS for tracking info.

Still, I'm furious. I Pre-ordered mine through the ATT store the 14th and I expected it to be here now.

The whole reason I Pre-Ordered it, was because I wanted it early. If I had known it would lead to this mess, I would of got it the day of in the store.

ATT blames the short supply...Imbeciles. You prioritize those who paid first, for their product, not those after. It's been 10 days...After this contract I'm done with ATT, I have been a firm supporter for 10 years. But this really ruined it.

Now it's time to move on to Verizon. Nice business model ATT, you had it going when the iPhone was only yours, you lost the battle when the other companies obtained rights to sell the iPhone. Now, I don't have to sit, and thumble month to month on your contract simply because I enjoy the device. Cheers.
