When will the pre-ordered iPhone 5 ship? [ Edited ]

All phones that are preorder ship from China. Yes, 'tis true jtrue. In apple community forums people are already posting screenshots of their At&t preorder shipments from UPS. Lucky.

If it's being sent UPS, you use the following process:

Go to the UPS website Track by reference

Put your phone # in under "shipment reference" or your order# minus the last two numbers

Put your country Leave your shipper acct blank.

Put your zip code

Won't work with FedEX

My status just changed from Backorder 1 to Backorder 0.  Hope that's good news.

would hazard a guess is that there is 1 backordered or none are back ordered

Is "processing" better than "back ordered" or vice versa?

I ordered a 32gb black last Friday the 14th..... tried to order it at 2:00am Central time in Texas but the AT&T site had crashed and I got frustrated.... Could not buy from Apple as I am a Premiere account.... ended up ordering at 10:15am at a local corporate store.

Fun fact: I actually called in when the phone support opened at like 8:03 am and finally got through after being on hold for 1 hour 2 minutes.... BUT they couldn't get the order through as the system was so bogged down which at that point was not suprising.... 

One thing that bugs me is EVERYONE (Apple, AT&T, Verizon, etc) should know at this point that these phone releases and preorders are crazy... they should provide enough bandwidth to accomodate hundreds of thousands of people ordering at once online through their e-commerce websites..... what is the point of having a preorder if they can't handle the orders being placed....... furthermore, why did Apple not have trouble but AT&T did?  You'd think on the 6th go around they would ALL have this down to a science... even if it was "the fastest sellling iPhone of all time"

My order said "Processing" for a few days and has now moved to "In Progress" but it still shows back order as 1......

The last few iPhone releases I have waited in line and this is my first pre-order experience.  I am hoping that the 32gb's ship quicker than the 15gb's as everyone at my local AT&T store said they had significalntly more volume on the 16gb than the other two. But this is probably just wishful thinking.... 

Anyone else in the same boat as me?

I ordered a 16 GB and a 32 GB on the morning of 9/14 through AT&T website, at about 6:30am CST (4:30 am PDT).

My credit card was charged the amounts but still says "Pending" as of today.

My original email said nothing about shipping estimates or dates, only that my devices will arrive "as early as September 21"

My current order status on AT&T website:DATE ORDERED: 09/15/2012 SHIPMENT STATUS: Processing

Everything just says "Processing"

Here's to hoping that I will see some activity soon... been checking back all day and nothing yet!

I just spoke to an AT&T rep over the phone at 1866-454-2506 or 1866-662-4548 ....... the lady told me that ALL iPhones from AT&T will be received on the 21st and that everyone that ordered the iPhone 5 on Friday should recieved their iPhone Friday or Monday... she said people that ordered it LATE Friday and Saturday+ will probalby be at least a week back ordered and most likely 14+ days......

Not sure how reliable this info is but I thought I'd pass it along........

OH ya and she did confirm that 32gb's would have a better chance of being shipped sooner as there is lower demand but now as low as you might expect.... but any little bit helps I guess?

I keep calling the premiere number and keep losing the rep as soon as they answer. This is my first foray into iPhone pre-order madness. I hope the service is better than the customer service. I don't even have AT&T service yet and just a little annoyed with customer service (which I am attributing to iPhone mania) As long as I can make calls from my home, I will deal with it from now.

I ordered mine Black 64GB version from AT&T website at about 8:57 am CDT 9/14 (6:57 am PDT 9/14).The only email I got from AT&T was the order comfirmation and it said my order will be shipped on 9/21. I called AT&T and one rep said that "my order will be shipped ON TIME(9/21)". I told them that their website shows "your order will be shipped on 9/21" when I ordered the phone. They said then I can be sure that my phone will be shipped ON TIME. And they order from AT&T shows that the ordered ratio of different versions are 60%,30%,10& for 16/32/64B. So I guess if you get a 32 or 64GB version, it would probably SHIP FASTER. However, I haven't got the email saying anything about the shipment and my order status is showing "Processing" now. I tried to track by reference on UPS, but nothing found (maybe it's shipping by FedEx).

Well apparently there was a problem with my dad's account so I had to make an account under my names and now I got a confitmation email that it has been processed. So I guess my dad's account was the problem

I called last night because they had a problem processing my debit card but the lady said that it would be shipped on the 21st but she also said since my payment didn't go through the first time i lost my place in line. Not sure if it will be shipped on the 21st or not. I guess we will see.
