When I PreOrder my iPhone 4S.....

Do I have to use the name/info of the primary account person? My iPhone account is under a family plan under my mother's name. The thing is I pay the bill so it's really my account (without me paying the $500 no credit thingy). 

I was wondering that if when I preorder my iPhone 4S tonight I'd have to order with her name or if I could use my own. I don't want it to come with her number or anything (i dont know how this crap works, sorry im a little stupid. haha) 

I'd rather just use my name. Especially since it's under my bank card.

And final question, is it better to preorder from apple.com or at&t.com? I honestly am leaning towards Apple.com I think.

I would order from att.com. Think about all the AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint customers that will be on the apple.com website preordering.

att.com is only for AT&T customers, which should definitely be alot quicker IMO.

does AT&T usually ship early like Apple.Com? I was hoping for a chance at getting it early like iPhone 4 users did last year? and also could you answer the question about using my own name to order the phone please? since you work there and you probably know it.

Devices will begin to arrive for everyone on the 14th. They will ship out before the 14th, most likely late night on the 12th or early morning on the 13th. If you get yours early, consider yourself lucky, I dont think thats apples intentions

I dont understand what you mean by ordering in your name. Can you please explain in more detail?

If your upgrading your phone number you dont have to worry about it messing up her line. If you are upgrading her line, and swapping the equipment over to your phone number, then just wait till you get the phone and before you activate it call customer service and tell them you want to activate it on your line not your moms. During the billing info, you can put your name when it asks for name on card.

Okay what I want to do is place the order in my name. so that my name appears on the package that arrives. But she is the primary account holder. Can I order under my name even though she is over the account?

My line is the one available for upgrade.

Oh ok I see what you mean. Unfortunately it will show as the account owners name, and will ship to the billing address. The ordering system doesnt let you pick the name that shows on the label when you receive it, it will just automatically generates the account owners name.

to be honest, i really dont know how the apple.com ordering system works so I wouldn't have an answer for you there. I just know how the AT&T ordering system works. its worth a try, but I honestly think the apple website is going to crash because of the high volume of people ordering at 12:01 am PT
