For those who've been given a shipping date in October take heart. My friend just sent me an email with a shipping confirmation for her iPhone. She should be getting it tomorrow or Tuesday, when she was initially given an October 5th delivery date. Has anyone else seen this?

My original ship date was October 4th. It just updated and I should have it Friday 9/28. It's in China right now...

edited to add I preordered on 9/14 around 6:30am from the Apple site

My iPhone was originaly October 5th but it's on its way to me now! It's won't leave Kentucky Its been in Kentucky since early this morning.

She pre-ordered at about 7:35am EST (4:35 PST - 4 hrs after ordering started). Also -- I don't know if this makes a difference, but -- we ordered from the Apple Store app on our existing iPhone 4s, not AT&T.
