Phone 5 not shipping until the 21st??

In my confirmation email it says that I will RECEIVE it on the 21st I ordered at 6:29 am CST but a cstomer service rep told me later that ATT doesn't get them in their warehouse til the 21st and ships them that day so it will be the middle of the next week before you get them. Does anyone knowwhat's going on here??

That would be different than they have done it in the past. When I got my 4 from AT&T, it came on launch day (actually the day before), and it left from their warehouse in Texas a day or two before.

To be honest, I wouldn't believe everything a CS rep says. A lot of people have complained that AT&T reps give wrong info. Just check your shipping status on Wednesday and track your order when you get your number

where have you been? just becuase you placed a Preorder? does not mean you will have it on the 21st.AT&T has to get them instock before they can ship.will be a week too  ttwo weeks before you have the iphone 5. was like this wit hthe Iphone 4s and iphone 4 & ESC ECT ECT ECT!!

Me i will wait to make a trip to the Apple store have a small wait in line then walk out of the store with my new iphone like i did my Iphone 4S.

just because  AT&T says the 21st that does not mean you will have it. serach this forum on delivery problems with iphone 4s on pre orders you will see a LOT of threads.

Standing in line at Apple is an option, but considering Apple sold out in less than an hour for 9/21 delivery, the line may be pretty long.

i AGREE the day the Iphone 4s was launched i was at the mall by  the Apple store the LINE was HUGE up too a 2 hour wait in line.

i would wait a couple of weeks please  Be Patient it does pay off.

AT&T already has a large inventory of iPhones at its warehouse.  My guess is that internal order processing will begin on Tuesday.

AT&T already has a large inventory of iPhones at its warehouse.  My guess is that internal order processing will begin on Tuesday.

and that means what?  that inventory will last about a day with all the pre orders taken. and people who walk into a AT&T store hoping to get a new iphone walk out empty handed.and some to most pre orders took  about 3 weeks to reach cutomers when the Iphone 4s was released.

Shipped from a central warehouse in Dallas (near the UPS hub at DFW Airport).  There also may be another warehouse.

Store inventory is usually direct-shiped from Apple.

If you ordered it AFTER Friday (Sept. 14), you will most likely receive it after the 21st. AT&T sold out of all iPhone 5 orders on Friday at 1PM, so if you pre-ordered yours on Saturday, it might be a while before you see yours...but just keep calling CS and asking for an update

There are phones already in inventory and more will arrive daily, probably directly from China.

If the process works like last time, the first hint of shipment preparation is that the "QTY BACK-ORDERED" on your "Order Status Results" screen will start to flip between 1 and 0.

It just means it hasn't advanced to any other state yet. I wouldn't obsess over it. They have your order, and it doesn't say anything bad like canceled, attention, or back ordered. It probably will sit there in processing until it moves to shipping, when you'll get a tracking number. It's all good.

That's how mine is, a few hours ago mine changed from backordered 1 to backordered 0. There are 2 different order status screens. One shows this information while the other only shows processing.

If it's a Premier order, your order number works on both the Premier order status page, as well as on the regular AT&T order status page.  Unfortunately, the two systems use different status descriptions so they can show different status for the same order at any given time.   IIRC, Premier only uses the processing and shipped codes and not the backorder status title.

Anyone who has a plan set up through their employer would have a Premier account, even if the phone is for personal use. Kboy, does your account holder receive a discount on the monthly bill?

Well there are times that they are received that day, I've done enough pre-ordering from other places to know that, but then again I'm not very sure about AT&T for this is the first time I pre-order something from them.

I have a premeir account through my comapany and was able to get a discount on the phone plan and data. It's the only reason I went that route. However I ordered on Sat. so it will be awhile before I recieve my phone.

Should be "near the FedEx hub." I mixed up how Apple ships (UPS) with how AT&T ships (FedEx).

The status of my ordered has changed from processing to shipped, but no details were supplied.  Has anyone else's order been updated?
