Icons for Laqst Used Programs

iPhone 3GS Software 4.2.1

I know there is a way to slide the four icons at the bottom of the home screen to show icons for the most recently used programs. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Are you referring to the multi-tasking tray? If so, all you have to do is open the app that you want to appear in that tray, and it will be there, when you close the app out, and hit the home key twice.
