iOS 6.1 has just come out. There are several articles on what it contains, (Mostly new LTE carriers), but nothing on the bug fixes. It does appear to be a tad bit faster IMHO.

Unfortunately, I see no good reason to update. I'm staying on 6.0.1, unless Apple fixes the widespread MMS issue. I may have already found a fix for that, so hopefully I'll be happy using my iPhone to its full potential again.

"Ren: Now listen, Cadet. I've got a job for you. See this button? Don't touch it! It's the History Eraser button, you fool!
Stimpy: So what'll happen?
Ren: That's just it. We don't know. Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?"

I have never had a issue with MMS on our iPhone, no matter where we travel. So in reality, it is not a widespread issue. Also, Apple would have nothing to do with it, it would be the provider you are roaming on, or using at that time, that can restrict the use of data from a user, while on their network.
Read the thread here from the Apple Support Community: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4314114?start
There have been many reports of iOS 6 restricting the ability of iPhone users on all major US carriers (AT&T, Verizon, even Sprint) to send MMS messages or group messages. It's been this way since September. I have never roamed on any other network besides AT&T. I (and many others) was hoping that Apple would fix this issue with the next iOS update, but that is not the case. MMS messages were fully functional on 5.1,1, so iOS 6 is the culprit. It's not fully AT&T's fault.

When you get to the heart of the issue, it is as I mentioned before. People roamin out of their home network, on other networks that restrict roaming user data & Sms/mms use, along with pre-paid users.

So you're saying that being a part of AT&T GoPhone is not roaming on AT&T's own network, but some other one?

Again, go back and read what I stated, along with the griping in the support.apple.com link. Has nothing to do with iOS 5.x or iOS 6.x.
MMS worked flawlessly on 5.1.1, then was suddenly worthless when the iOS 6 update was released. People experiencing this issue would agree with me. I appreciate your insight, but I'm not going to argue about it anymore.

Again not a issue because of the Firmware.
