AT&T’s (T) customers who have long enjoyed unlimited 3G data on their iPhones are in luck: They’ll be able to keep their unlimited data plans when they purchase the iPhone 5 despite the fact that it’s a 4G LTE device. AT&T wireless chief Ralph de la Vega said today that his company would “offer customers the flexibility to keep the iPhone data plans they already have or choose any of our individual or new Mobile Share plans” if they wanted to switch. A company spokesperson confirmed that this will apply to unlimited data plans currently held by AT&T iPhone users.

Apple is taking pre-sale orders on their website at 12:01 am PT on Friday, September 14, AT&T has not yet announced when it will start selling the iPhone 5.

I called att and found out that the reason I saw the 36 upgrade fee is bc apple system don't know I have an employee discount account, so she placed a note on my acct to waive it after it shows on my statement

Now if only I can get walmart to answer if they are discounting their 32 like their 16gb (they are doing pre-order for the first time at 8am).

There is no need to call AT&T in advance about upgrade fee waivers for Premier accounts. If a Premier account is charged this fee, it is easily credited without question.

hmmm...yes I got a $1 authorizatiion too...except I got another one 2 minutes later!! Ruh-roh! I only see 1 phone in my "order status", however...I'll gladly take 2 at $199 tho!!

I got like 5 $1 auth, I signed up for express checkout earlier today, plus the few times it asked me to confirm my card lol, plus trying to do order on my phone before doing it on my mac.

I just expected a 299 auth like when I ordered at an att store 2 years ago for the 4

I've heard it happening in previous pre-orders. They just ping your card to make sure if it's a valid card, but don't charge the full amount until it actually ships. For debit cards, I think they reserve the full amount, though
