GoPhone Help

Hello Everyone,

In a couple weeks I shall be joining the ATT staff as Tier 1 tech support for internet services. Since I had just moved to my current city I had to buy a burn phone so the HR people could contact me. I went to Best Buy and bought the Samsung SGH-A107 GoPhone with a 25 dollar SIM card. So far it's been working.... decently. I realized just yesterday that I brought with me an old iPhone 3g (ATT network) that doesn't have a SIM card. I figured that I could just take my current SIM and just stick it into the iPhone and use that instead (I have the 2 dollar a day unlimited text talk and web if i am not mistaken). Anyways, I noticed that when I did so the status for service up at the top said "no service." So I was wondering, is it possible for me to transfer my GoPhone SIM card to my iPhone 3g? If so, how do I go about doing it? Eventually I will be just setting up a real account with the company but for now I would just like to be able to use a more technologically capable phone...

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Er, um... search this forum? Find many many posts saying AT&T doesn not support pay as you go on any iPhone?

Also when you activate a go phone, the SIM is locked to that phone for 6 months.

AT&T does not support the iPhone (any model) on the GoPhone network and there-fore it will not work. I'm sorry.

Ok thanks. I did search the forum but many of the postings I've looked at were older (like when the iPhone 3g was brand new), figured things might have changed since then... Oh well. THanks anyways...

Yes, the 3G will work on GoPhone, same with 3GS. Take it from someone who used both on GoPhone. If u want data to work, you must buy an extra data package Goto unlockit.co.nz and look for GoPhone data settings install and restart phone it wi work.

Hi. Yes you can use a go phone sim with you iphone. I have been using one for about 4 years now. You can also use the dataplan with it although its slow. Why pay for an expensive data plan when you only require a small amount of data on 3g..

To use the dataplan with it you need to use theiphone configurator and put in the correct apn info. Plenty of info about that on the web.
