I've just finished a lengthy phone conversation with Apple Support about my wife's problems with iOS 6. She has iPad 3 and she upgraded to iOS 6 as soon as Apple started pushing it. As things have turned out THAT was a really bad, bad mistake. That was some time ago...whenever it was that iOS 6 came out. Ever since....she has had continuing problems with apps that no longer work right or don't work at all. Of course I am the one who gets to try to solve these problems (probably why I have so little use for Apple) and I've just been informed by Apple support that it isn't Apple's fault. The company's position is that it is the fault of the outfits that have not updated their apps OR have updated them but did not give them sufficient testing before releasing the updates to users. So....in other words....Apple is washing its hands of the problem and the iPad owner is stuck with apps that don't work. AND...I gather from what I was told....all those unappy folks are calling in to Apple Support. I asked if we could go back to iOS 5 and was told "no" that is not possible. So take this warning:
IF YOU HAVE NOT YET UPGRADED YOUR iPAD TO iOS 6.....DON'T!
Unless, of course, you want to have to put up with apps that don't work right or don't work at all until all the companies and organizations get their apps updated correctly. Because APPLE is NOT being of any help at all.

Admittedly I don't have any iPad 3s in the house, but three iPad 2s, 2 iPhone 4s's and one iPod, all upgraded and having no issues except one 4s that was replaced because it refused to activate after upgrading.

exactly what apps are having problems - and Apple is right, same with Microsoft and redhat, is the application does not work on the latest release of the operating system it is up to the developer to make the app work. Have you tried shooting a email to the app developer and talking to their support team? My Ipad is updated and the apps all work - guessing you are refering to the Ipad 3 as the last one to release prior to the mini

Many times app problems that surface after an iOS upgrade can be solved by deleting the app and re-installing. Suggest trying that on the apps that don't seem to be working. Other app problems after upgrade have been attributed to fauty data restored during the backup/restore process that occurs when you upgrade. If deleting and re-installing does not fix the problem, suggest reseting the ipad back to factory settings and re-install/re-sync everything without restoring from a backup.

No problems here with the Apps I use on iOS6. Working great. I had a few issues at first but the developers for the Apps I use have been fast at updateing and fixing their stuff. I do have one App I found on my iPhone that doesn't work (Samsung SmartTV app). But it's not an iOS6 issue per say, as the same App works fine on my iPad 3. So that is the developers fault/mistake. Not iOS 6.
What Apps are you having issues with? Did you just upgrade (possibly having somethingbad left over from before)? Or did you install as a new device and did not use a backup, thus starting clean?

Yeah....she did the update straight on-line without going through iTunes. Probably she was trying to avoid the inevitable scene from me and elevated blood pressure when I have to deal with iTunes....or anything Apple for that matter.
I know that Apple refers to the latest iPad as the "New iPad" but I and a lot of other folks call it #3.
According to Apple CS many of the app outfits did updates to their apps but waited until the last minute to do them and pre-release testing was inadequate. Our biggest problem is with "The Daily" which is the "newspaper" service that first made the scene when the first iPad came out and it was for the iPad only....not available for any other device at the time. Now it loads very slowly.....sometimes not completing the download at all. Any videos provided in The Daily load so slowly that she just gives up trying. This news service was one of her favorites.
There are other apps giving her problems. I can't remember which ones right now. But in each case.....even if there was not an update available....she has uninstalled the original from her iPad and then reinstalled the app or app-update. No improvement. Looks like a wait and see situation. The guy I talked to at Apple CS said that they are getting hundreds upon hundreds of calls about this problem and he admitted that his own iPad had the same problems after he upgraded to iOS 6. Personally....I don't really give a hoot whose fault it is. I just want her iPad to work like it did before. And...I still recomend that anyone who has not upgraded to iOS 6 yet should wait for a while before they do so. As far as we can see there have been no benefits from the upgrade....just problems.
