ATT Customer service sucks

I am trying to get my iphone unlocked and completed all of the steps necessary. ie. Filled in the request form, faxed all requested info to the 214 Phone number. I received a request number back and waited 10 days but still no response back from ATT. I have made 6 phone calls to the support number and no one knew what to do next!!
Anyone have advice on how I can get my phone unlocked???
If it is this hard to get a phone unlcoked I will never re-consider ATT at all.
ATT shame on you!!

Try dealing with Verizon. You'll go through 100 options before you can speak to the right rep and most of the time, they'll need to transfer you to someone else. I had an iPad with a Verizon plan and I cancelled that plan almost as quickly as I started because of their terrible customer service. Unfortunately we live in a world where this is the norm.

My experience was the opposite. I received an email back from AT&T in under 12 hours saying they unlocked mine.

On the other hand, I tried unlocking our iPhone 4, 4s last week and ATT would not let us LOL They did finally approved unlocking my older 3GS. But it took them days to send me an email back just to say yes/no.

it takes 5 to 7 business days to process, if you are not a current or previous it could take longer due to the additonal documentatin that you are required to supply

you can;t copare unlocking a regular style phone with a Iphone, it is done completely different add to the fact that prior to the end of april this year the iphone was never unlocked no matter what.
Suspect that the reason for not unlocking the 4 or the 4s was becasue the 2 year commitment was not completed, that is one of the requirements to unlock a att customers iphone
