It is said that a lower cost iPhone - iPhone mini will come to China this summer. An iPhone mini will priced at $330 (about Rmb 2,000). Apple will lower the iPhone's price by equipping device with an exterior that an costs less than the aluminum housing on current models. Will you buy an iPhone mini?
no

I guess it depends on how one chooses to define "cheap"--cheap, as in the use of less-expensive parts/materials (e.g., plastic vs. aluminum--iPhone 3G/3GS back housing is plastic; smaller display; exclusion of some features)...or cheap, as in lower-priced? Example--Apple offers more than one type of "iPod" product--iPod Touch, iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano, iPod Classic; one could argue that the iPod Shuffle is a "cheap" version among the iPod line since after all, it is the least expensive iPod model at $49 but its primary function/purpose--digital music playback--is no different from that of the Nano or Classic. Would folks absolutely argue that the Shuffle isn't simply a "cheap" iPod...or that the Nano isn't--for all intents and purposes--a "cheaper" iPod Touch?
Apparently there is still a market for lower-priced iPod models, even though IIRC iPhones outsell iPods now and the least-expensive iPhone model still costs more--even if purchased at a carrier's upgrade price--than the retail price of a iPod Nano...otherwise Apple would have discontinued the Nano and Shuffle long ago rather than redesigning them every so often (there have been 7 generations of Nanos starting with the 1st gen back in 2002)...so why would anyone think for a moment that a lower-priced ("cheap") iPhone model could never come to fruition?

While I could see a cheaper version for markets where phones are sold at full retail price, I can't see a market for a phone with a smaller screen or less capability. That would be completely against the current trend for smartphones. I don't see a mini iPhone as being successful, at least not in the US.
Maybe they are doing it for t-mobile - unless they changed their minds they announced they are doing away with subsidized phones in the near future

iPod and iPhone comparison is not a valid comparison because some just want a music player to fit their needs jogging or exercising while others want their entire catalog so the different capacities and sizes work for that reason.
The phones if they lacked any feature at all would raise discontent and have weak sales this has been done before by other mfg.'s and it did not pan out.
It seems the growing trend is more of everything just look at every commercial and website this phone has this theirs does not so making a phone lacking anything in its product line does not make good business since.
Like all Apple rumors until the product is announced its just vaporware.

There are tons of Apple rumors and very few come to life or if they do, very rarely when the rumor says it will.
Apple does a lot of experimenting and many of those experiments never see the light of day. I would make very few decisions on what you need to do today based on something that is happening in the future. There are some patterns that are more relibable but the timing is not guaranteed. We know Apple will release a new model iphone this year but it could be summer or fall. They have moved this around in the past so no one really knows. Could they be building something special for China? Possiblely given the goverments involvement in everything and the demands they make of companies selling products there.
There are lots of good sites out there with Apple information but the likelhood of something coming gets better when the Wall Street Journal or New York Times starts to comment as those have been avenues for release of data for Apples marketing arm.

While it is is not a fair comparison, Android manufacturers like HTC and Samsung do add their Little flavor of style (and yes I prefer HTC, especially the HTC One). Would be nice if Apple did this for us!

Like I said its an unfair comparison but Apple does have a very good hand at the security department, now if they could only just add a little style to iOS.

I will accept change if its actually better but not just for the sake of change I don't get bored easily but can get irritated when things that worked better are taken away.

Oh yeah definitely. They must not be a rushed feature per se, don't wanna repeat HTC's little mistake with not testing for security flaws before releasing and paying a fine for it.

don;t forget all the security flaws that are in Apples latest IOS - that are still not fixed by 6.1.1, 6.1.2 and the beta version of 6.1.3. We have temporarily banned all corporate email to Apple devices
