I am in serious need of a virus remover. I have called three times today to get help in removing a virus and getting MacAfee, but, my PC has shut itself off on all three times. Can you help me?

If you did not have any anti-virus software installed and you're now infected, installing McAffee now will not help. As well AT&T does not provide security support (at least not without a fee).
From the description of the condition of your PC, I would suggest finding profesional help. Find a small local PC repair shop, don't go to Best Buy or Office Depot. A competant technician should be able to clean out your PC in a day or two. Unfortunately this is not something that can be taken care through a forum, it's more hands on than that.

I have a virus that McAfee doesn't recognize at this time (smitfraud-c.generic). From what I see from this answer is that I have to pay the $90 for them to remove it?

Yes Macafee don't use for anti virus.
You can use Norton 360 is the best anti virus software.
