cant turn the vibration off on my phone
I've recently got a new phone and I've gone over it multiple times and found everything I could to turn off the vibration when I receive a notification from an app or a game. I have a heart defect and it scares me when I'm holding my phone and a message comes thru and it vibrates. Do I need to take the phone back to the store or am I missing something? Please help I've always have my phone in my hand....

Most phones may vibrate if sound if turned off, but have a further option for "all off". This is usually controlled with volume buttons.
Other notifications that cause vibration may be changed by the following:
In settings, sound, in every place where vibration is mentioned, turn off vibration. You can also turn off haptic feedback.
Next go into apps like Facebook, Twitter, Google + , and email. Each of the apps may have its own setting for notifications, including a vibration option.
If you continue to have vibration, check notification bar to see which app might be triggering it.

settings. I have done that before I asked for help. I even found some
settings on the keyboards it's self. I even turned the ones off I wasn't
using. The phone still vibrates, one message will vibrate and 2 hours later
that same message will come thru and it won't vibrate. My husband has the
exact phone as I do and he went in and just turned it off on the settings
and it never did it after that.. Could this be a default in the phone? Only
wondering because of the messages coming in 1 will vibrate and same message
I get from the games or apps 2 hours later it won't vibrate... I'm lost on
this. I've had technology around my whole life and have never seen a phone
do this before. If it didn't bother my heart "scare the carp out of me" I
wouldn't mind. But it does. And every once in awhile the keyboard will
vibrate as I type. This phone has a mind of it's own. And was concerned
since I just got the phone last Friday if I shouldn't take it back up to
the store?? Thanks Jennifer

Sounds odd. If you've turned off vibration, it should stay off.

The keyboard vibration is Haptic feedback. Turn it off in settings.

I just purchased two LG B470 for my family, and I have not been able to find a way to turn off the vibration either. It is necessary to be able to make the phone completely silent. I have followed all directions I can find (including holding down the # key to turn off the quick-vibrate), and nothing works. I have it set to only ring, but it still vibrates. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

On my LG 470, (I think) there's not a way to turn off the vibrator. I've been to the AT & T store and done some online reading. No matter what settings, it still vibrates when an outgoing call is answered. I'm autistic and noise sensitive and have stopped using the phone but my wife needs to call me at times. Is there a way to snip a wire to the vibration mechanism inside. I'm frustrated and desperate.

@SoSalty According to the manual, this is how you adjust settings

The experienced tec folks at local AT & T store verify that the vibrator CAN'T be turned off for when calls go thru. What I need is either a different phone or access to a wire leading to the vibrating mechanism so I can snip it. 1st I'll need a miniature screwdriver. Until I have time to do so, I won't have the phone on me.
