The 4.3 update popped up as ready to install for me on Dec. 22, never asked for it to download and take up 770MB of space, it was pushed down on my phone without me knowing it was going on.  I didn't want to update after all of the issues I read about here but didn't hit the button to delay installation when it hijacked my screen so the update installed.

So far, the only issues I have on my Galaxy S4 are slight lags in launching apps compared to before and lagging keyboard response at times, along with increased battery consumption.  Overall I see zero benefit to this "update".

I am having the problem with one of my S4s that it downloads all the update, then reboots to recovery, gets to 25% complete, stops, reboots and then back at the lock screen. Once you unlock the phone to use it it says that the update was interrupted. I have kept the device plugged into power while downloading so it would not fall asleep. This is my wife's S4 that is having problems. Mine updated to 4.3 without problems and I'm having no issues either.

Really annoying I have to wait 24 hours between tries.

It would have been nice if there was a way to get the update on the phone via a USB cable to a PC.

I get:

Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via Kies

Current firmware version: PDA:MF3 / PHONE:MF3 / CSC:MF3 (ATT)

Gee thanks, AT&T

I wouldn't bother updating even if you can; I didn't find any changes that make it worth your while.  What did notice was slightly decreased battery life and some lagging in bringing up the keyboard.

I can confirm that I spoke on the phone with one of the Community specialists from this forum and was told that the 4.3 update is back on hold for the Galaxy S4 from AT&T. I was told that I have to wait until the 4.4 update that should be released sometime in first quarter of 2014 (Jan - March).

Sorry for the bad news from AT&T.

Who can guarantee that the next release will come smoother?

Rather ATT should investigate and find now: what is the reason for the failure of 4.3 OTA update...

As for me, I tried to update my [not rooted] S4 to 4.3 twice. Both times it failed exactly at same point while installation progress was 25%... Furthermore, second time it was observed by an ATT tech support specialist having remote access to my phone (at least to its screen) via special ATT Support Utility. However, his virtual "presence" on the scene and his ability to watch the progress didn't help...

What about remote monitoring of OTA 4.3 installation in debugging mode (or something similar to it)  by one of the  ATT software engineers responsible for the maintenance/support of the S4 OTA 4.3 distribution?

From my own experience I know that if developer can't duplicate (reproduced) user's problem, there is nothing for him to fix, or to start with...  So, ATT developers might work hard to find a reason for our installations' failure, but most probably, they can't duplicate it...  They don't have "real" phones loaded with different set of applications... I'd assume that they rather play with "blank" ones reset to original manufacturer status...

Thus, a practical solution would be to offer one of such real phones that consistently and/or uniformly fail (I can volunteer main for remote access and investigation) to an interested ATT developer who would use all his sophisticated tools for remote debugging to see what really happens at the progress point of 24%, then at 25%, and why it never reaches 26%.

May be one of the Community specialists can help in organizing such mutualy beneficial cooperaton between the Company and the Community: when the Community of users would help the Company to serve them even better!!!

Dear AT&T Community Manager:

I've noticed that after my GS4 updated to the new 4.3 jellybean I began to have issues with my WiFi connectivity. I often get a message that my connection is unstable or too slow and my phone will drop off WiFi and use data. I must always remain vigilant of this to avoid paying data overages. I never had this issue before the update.
Secondly, I've also lost the ability to access hidden apps. Before the update I hide some apps that I didn't use that often to avoid the clutter. But now when I go to access them I get a "unfortunately touchwiz has stopped" message. How can I access previously hidden apps??
Please reply. Thank you!

Same problems here.

MK2  - 4.3

Wireless and Bluetooth just get disabled on their own..

i agree with the locked bootloader, if ATT were to remedy this we could fix on our own...

will be making an "angry" call to ATT later...

The only reason I can imagin taking away the mobile data toggle is to rack up more muniutes. $$$$$ for AT & T at the expense of heri customers.   I use this feature frequently to save batery life. Now i need to go htough five menues to turn my data on an off.   This is some truly ugly greed from AT & T.

So I shouldn't expect the 4.3 update ever then? Did they stop rolling it out because of all the bugs reported?
