Hello b4ng0rX,

If your update is available using the Samsung Kies software, assuming you already have Kies installed on your PC, you should get a notification of the update once you connect your phone to Kies. You should then click update and hit confirm once you read through the warnings. Follow that by hitting the "Start Upgrade" button and wait.

For your reference, you may only download the update via Wi-Fi.

I thought I was alone dealing with problem. Kies3 is for devices only with 4.3. And when I use Kies, it says my device's current firmware version is not supported to update. Smiley Indifferent

I've emailed a tech support and he said there's nothing else he can do to help me. I should just try and try, and honestly, it's frustrating.

Hello pimentel,

This is a longshot, but it's worth a try. Assuming you're not rooted, go into Recovery mode and delete your cache partition and they try again.

To wipe the cache partition, follow these steps,
1. Turn your device off.
2. Press and hold the volume up button, the home button, and the power button at the same time.
3. When the phone vibrates, let go of the Power button, but continue to told the volume up button and the home button.
4. Once you get to the Android Recovery Screen, let the buttons go.
5. Use the volume down button to highlight 'wipe cache partition.'
6. Press the power key to confirm the selection.
7. Reboot System Now should be selected, then press the Power Button to confirm.

Edit: Make sure you read the options carefully before you confirm or you may end up wiping your phone completely. Wipe Cache won't delete any of your personal data or settings, Wiping your phone will reset it to factory settings (except with any firmware updates applied).

Tried it...but it said erasing and then error before it restarted. Am I still going to be able to have the 4.3? Smiley Sad

That's very odd, but it seems as if you're not alone. In fact a Google Search finds this problem to be common with plenty of Galaxy S4 devices. I wonder if that may have something to do with your inability to get the update (and the error message on Kies).

Thank you so much! There's only so much I can do here in the Philippines, which makes it even more frustrating than it already is. Smiley Frustrated

I just got confirmation from the community specialist posted above that the 4.3 update is back on hold. I was told that I have to wait until the kit Kat update which is scheduled to be pushed someone in 1st quarter of 2014. Bummer.

What's all the talk about the mobile data toggle?   I don't even know what or where it is.  I'm scared to get the update cus I don't want my phone screwed.

I have been in phone conversation with an ATT community specialist, and was informed this week that the 4.3 firmware has been put back on hold due the number of calls that they have been receiving with errors, crashes, and so on. I was told that I will have to wait until the 4.4 Kit Kat update comes out 1st quarter of next year.

Thought I would pass this on if you are on 4.2.2 and waiting for update. It is not going to be pushed.

Merry Christmas 😞

I can confirm that I spoke on the phone with one of the Community specialists from this forum and was told that the 4.3 update is back on hold for the Galaxy S4 from AT&T. I was told that I have to wait until the 4.4 update that should be released sometime in first quarter of 2014 (Jan - March).

Sorry for the bad news from AT&T.
