Can I use my contracted sim card with an unlocked phone?

Hi, I am currently half way through my 2 year contract on my HTC ONE M7.

Yet my phone's screen is broken with a bunch of other hardware issues, so I am planning to send it for repair.

However, while my phone is away I still need access to my number, and was wondering if I could use my sim card with an unlocked phone.

If that's possible, then I would buy or borrow an unlocked phone until my phone gets repaired.

Thank you!

Yes, you can use your SIM in any AT&T phone or any unlocked GSM phone that uses the same size SIM until your phone is repaired.

Also, you might need to manually enter AT&T's APN settings into the new unlocked phone for data service.

just go buy a GoPhone and stick your sim in till your phone gets back.  the nokia 620 is only 69.00 bucks at walmart.  Or if you just want calls while its gone get a 10 dollar flip phone.
