Just came back from the AT&T store. Had one of the ladies check the computer to see when the S2 was getting the ICS update, just in the off chance it had been put in the system.
Computer read:
S2 Skyrocket ICS update: 26 June 2012 (at least for my area here in California).

Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) is being announced at Google I/O and we still don't have ICS for Skyrocket. Very poor on both T and Sammy. Very little concern for customers. The only comfort I have is that the phone is hackable and I can run a leaked version. But why should I have to?

Yeah, maybe the Kies/Skyrocket issue will be resolved by then.

I called at&t to ask about upgrading to Ice Creme Sandwhich after seeing it on my friends Galaxy SIII. I was told by at&t that 2.3.6.11 is the latest version and to call samsung to ask about the update. When I did that they told me that the skyrocket did have Ice Creme Sandwhich, but that their Kies software was down or under maintenance or something like that. They also said that when it comes back up, that it will be available for the Skyrocket. I wonder if this person is correct or not? I hope so...

Just FYI, ICS is finally out for the Skyrocket. Go to the Wireless support section and make sure you select the skyrocket. You'll see the info there. As with the regular S II, the Skyrocket ICS upgrade is only available via Samsung Kies. Enjoy ICS guys. I got a Galaxy S III and I'm already loving ICS, but when I get home I will update the old S II skyrocket.

I just downloaded ICS for Skyrocket via Kies. Have some patience and it works. After you finish installing, you will probably notice a lot of updates to apps happening all at once if you enabled automatic updating. Finally we have ICS!

obviously an AT&T representative is saying that the Cyanogen Mod for Skyrocket is buggy. For those of us who have used it, know better.

9th July 2012, i saw the above link and upgrade my firmware to ICS 4.0.4 Now Skyrocket from AT&T+Samsung+google is running well with NFC, face unlock may more good option. After near about a year they released the ICS for the Skyrocket. LOL. that's why its now not a surprised matter. however at least they released ICS for Skyrocket.
But still in main announcement page, no announcement of ICS for Skyrocket and Note

First off, the Kies software is really, really, really slow.
But more importantly, this BRICKED MY PHONE.
I took it to the AT&T store and they swapped it out for a "new" Skyrocket (the people at the store said I wasn't the first victim of bricking and they suggested I wait a couple of weeks before trying again)
So, if you are going to do this, make sure you have a good backup and you have lots of time (and other things to occupy your time)

Very good internet connection speed, 100% battery back up and minimum 4/5 GB space in Windows drive is fine for updating Samsung Skyrocket to Android 4.0.4

Samsung "Kies" Version.2.3.2.12064_9
then the whole procedure is clearly written in the below link>
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/SupportOwnersFAQ
Important Note: ICS upgrade for SKYROCKET needs a faster Computer (Desktop/Laptop) with a very good internet connection(no connection interruption during the whole process) which has good speed too. Because Kies software's download speed is very slow.
The process takes 3 steps:
1. first a small file will be downloaded via Kies
2. Second time main ICS file will be downloaded via Kies
3. ICS file will be written into The Skyrocket (very much improtant and serious matter, because if there is any interruption in this step phone will be bricked)
