My sister currently has an GS3 she got over 30 days ago and now she wants the Note 2. She has 3 lines on her account. I know she can't switch out the GS3 since it's too late. But she told me one of her other lines is upgradable end of next month. The upgradable line is a dumbphone. Can she upgrade to the Galaxy Note 2 on that line and then throw her sim card from her gs3 in and keep her number and unlimited internet? Also, if it is possible, what about the new data on the upgraded line dumbphone line? it would have to be added to upgrade since it's a dumb phone. But that phone is for her daughter, so she want's her daughter to just keep the same dumbphone and not have data. Can the data be canceled after the upgrade on the dumbphone line? This all sounds confusing, Hope you guys know what i'm trying to say.

Yes, she can do this. If she orders the phone online she'll have to add a data plan to that line when she orders (in order to check out with a smartphone) but it can be removed after she gets the phone and puts her SIM card in it. Simple call to customer service to let them know the daughter's line is using a dumbphone and to remove the data plan.
I've ordered online and had no problems with it. Activated the phone when I got it and then switched the SIM cards and called in to have the data plan removed from the dumbphone line.
Or if she prefers she can go into an AT&T corporate store (not an AT&T authorized retailer) and have them handle it. Just to make sure there's no confusion about what she wants.
