Skyrocket upgrade to ICS is frozen

I just finished my upgrade to ICS but my phone is now frozen. The screen says "Android is upgrading.... Starting applications" and has been that way for an hour. Any ideas on how to unfreeze it?

I had the same problem late last night. When the update refused to move past the "Starting Applications" screen, I hit the button on the right side of the phone and held it a little too long and it finished the update. When it finished updating it said to restart and unplug and replug in the usb cord. I turned off the phone and when it started back up I unplugged the usb cord. Unfortunately, it never made it past the AT*T screen and playing the music. It just stays on the AT&T page and never moves on. I have tried removing the battery, the sim card, restarting the upgrade, etc. nothing works. When I try to rerun the upgrade the Kies 2.0 error message says something about the device not being compatible with Kies 2.0 even though I just finished using it to upgrade the device.
Anybody else see anything like this? I guess I basically bricked my $300 phone. Is there any way to recover? I have had to switch back to my Blackberry Bold while trying to fix my Skyrocket. HELP!!!!!

Exact same thing happened to me. Not happy. I will take it into the store and see what they say.

Fixed! The guy at the AT&T store showed me how:
- Remove and replace the battery.
- Hold the power button and BOTH volume buttons at the same time.
- It will boot into Fast Boot mode, which is like a service/diagnostic mode.
- In the menu, there will be a reset to factory option.
- Select it, confirm.
- It will restart. It will take a moment, and then come up factory fresh, with ICS.
Reinstall your apps and you are good to go. My guess is one of the apps we had installed was not ICS compatible; a service or something.

Mine was worse. Had to take it to an AT&T service center. They recovered the phone back to it's pre-upgrade state. I lost nothing. It took them 15 minutes. They said ICS works great, but the Samsung web upgrade still had bugs and not to try again until it was resolved.
