The best way to tell when they actually ship, besides when you get the email, is to watch your bank account. When you see that charge from the company...... it's shipped! Go check your accounts right now!!!

What you are explaining is a "hold." It releases in a few days. You'll see.
The actual true charge, not the hold, will appear when the phone ships. They explain it at the end of the order process.

OH GREAT A DELAY!??? Even though they said sprint and t mobile but still will this effect ATT?

I got charged the day after I preordered it (which was 6/6/2012).
"We have processed your order and it has been sent to our warehouse for shipment.
Your order cannot be changed or canceled at this time."
This is the email message I got when it was charged, but it was charged when it was "sent" to the warehouse after processing the order (not sure how true that could be), not after it was actually shipped.
And yes the charge was on my bank account.

The same exact thing happened to me and I ordered my phone on 6/6 as well. When I went to the at@t site since i got that blank screen from the link, its saying my phone is backordered what is up with that?

My concern is my when I pre-ordered I didn't have a choice to enter an alternate shipping address, which means it's shipping to my apt. I don't care when they ship it. What is more important to me is that I wanted to know so I could be at my apt when it arrives as I'm sure it will require a signature.

Anyone else have a different date and order # when they log in and check their order that the one on the email receipt they received?
Pre-ordered mine on the 6th, and that is the date on the email i received, but when I check order status online, it shows I ordered on the 7th, and a different order # (still backordered.) Same phone though.

mine was a pending charge on 6/6 and was never confirmed by att and after some days it was not there...now by reading all comments I think they will charge again when they will start shipping

i never saw any charge (pending/approved) billed to my account since the day i pre-ordered (06/06). However, the order shipping status appears as "BackOrdered". Not sure why I wasn't charged till now.

Just got out of a chat with an ATT representative. AT&T has released an update on the Galaxy S III pre-order;
"all pre-orders placed for the Samsung Galaxy S III will be arriving to customers ON OR BEFORE THURSDAY, JUNE 28"

JUST got off the phone with CS. The phones WILL start shipping tomorrow, however, depending on when you ordered it will determine when you get it. The folks that ordered on the 6th, obviously, are first in line. I ordered mine on the 9th, so I may be out of luck for shipping till early next week...no big deal (like I have a choice).
The CSR assured me that shipping is on track to start tomorrow without fail, so y'all keep your fingers crossed. I do know which warehouse mine will be shipped from courtesy of CS...Dallas. Heck, Big D is only a couple of hours from me...it would almost be worth the road trip to zip down there and snatch it up in person!!!! Yeah, right. lol

I find it to be irksome that AT&T doesn’t seem to know what is going on. I am switching from Sprint to AT&T and Sprint already has their S3’s marked as sold out and Amazon has them on backorder. I feel if these other companies know the quantity of S3’s they have received and are able to tell customers there will for sure be more of a waiting period why can’t AT&T? Also other carriers have sent out e-mails when there were delays. If the phone could not ship on the 18th as posted in the original e-mail they sent me why don’t they have the courtesy to let their customers know? I have talked to multiple reps each with a different answer. I do not blame the reps. I know they can only give what information they have been supplied with, but come on, if other companies have an inkling of a clue as to what is going on then I’m sure someone at AT&T has too as well. I have noticed other customers have been told the s3 is on backorder and has already been shipping out, while I was told it is not on backorder and will be shipping out any day now.The thing that bugs me is the lack of communication between AT&T and thier customers.

I can now see their excuse...."Your Samsung Galaxy S® III has been reserved and is expected to arrive on or before 06/21/2012." i.e. it was reserved by them from Samsung, and is expected to arrive in their warehouse on or before the 21st.

I completely agree!!! AT&T Customer Support SUCKS!!! I was just on the phone with them and I had to explain to the rep that this was a preorder, she then talked to someone else and said the same thing. She then said that the phone will be shipped on the 21st as they told me in the email I had received. I had the email in front of me and it said it will ARRIVE on the 21st or before. After consulting with a colegue I was told the phones were still not received by AT&T from the manufacturer. So how can I still receive it in the next day? This is ridiculous! If they know w're not getting it on time, why not update us? It will cause less calls to the customer support group and less angry customers! Fed up with them!

actually i pre ordered mine on the 12th in store and was charged exactly as he placed the oorder...got a email and text from Chase saying 253$ has been charged to my bank account from AT&T
